Did you have previous retail experience?

 

i have/had no experience whatsoever... friday was my first ever night behind a bar =/

 

its not the time of year for retail to hire, they hire in february and september/october

stick with the shit bar job until you learn everything bout six months or so then you can get a better bar job that actually pays

 

Yeh that's partly what I was thinking, plus they will almost always go for someone with previous retail experience...in my experience lol.

 

yeah thats a wierd thing i noticed with retail even though it is the easiest thing to pick up, in most places its just shelf stacking of hanging clothes or whatever yet you need two years experience to get a job, yet most bars kitchens and offices will take on people with no experience what so ever

 

haha, you think i didnt go for all the xmas jobs last year?!! i ended up doing a 3 week stint with the royal mail, that was quite good

 

if your looking for retail at christmas go to the toy shops, there a lot of fun to work in, i did it one year and had a great time, plus staff discount

 

i went evvvvverywhere for the xmas jobs, absolutely everywhere =[ i shall stick with my shitty bar job, cause i gets free entry to gigs, YAY

 

sounds good to me, plus you should get tips in the bar or at least drunk people forgetting their change
