Not so much the elite as you're thinking, but the upper echelons of society... kind of like in Eyes Wide Shut. The movie has a lot of symbolism if you know what you're looking at. The building was also shot inside the building that Lennon was murdered outside of -- the Dakota.

I would never tolerate theft from the common man

hypothetically, stealing out of necessity is something I can understand. It sounds like Penny has been in a bind and a little butter thievery...ehhh...I tend to think it is fine. I would think other food items might come to mind first..but whateve...

I remember there was a quote from some famous 60s activist that said that stealing from the common man is a crime but not stealing from large corporations is a crime.

So yah, hypothetically, a person in need applying that quote, I can understand and would not point a finger. But stealing from a person....
