dont worry...your dreads will slip out some...when you take the bands out...but ITS NORMAL!!!!! Your hair will not start actually dreading for another 6-7 months. Its a long process.

idk, i guess im just holding onto the false hopes of not having to cut my dreads out when i graduate so i can go get a job. so id like to atleast enjoy self expression for a month or so.

oi OP, thats not frizz, that just general cruddy hair from being backcombed. aloe wont do much, the bands wont do much, and your sections will fall out.

haha, well thank you all for the constructive criticism. For the record: Most likely taking the bands off the bottom of my dreads today, however, leaving the top ones in for atleast a week, against popular demand. I may end up takin em out though, they kind of hurt. As far as aloe goes, not gonna worry about it. im just gonna let em chill. Im keepin em in a tam most of the time, except for when im in school. And i will most likely end up keeping them atleast through out the summer. If they dread nice or not, i dont care. It is still something different from what i've had all my life, and i love em.

the bands at the root will restrict movement, and movement at the root is good

I don't know ANYTHING about dreads. I will never dread my hair either. I think whatever you have going on right now looks cool though...

if you're not dedicated to having your dreads at least a year, there's honestly no point. I've had mine 6 months and they are JUST starting to look like actual dreads (though I have done it fairly naturally). Also, putting aloe in this early really isn't the best idea if you want your hair to lock up quickly. if you want them to look like dreads right away, I would recommend ditching the rubber bands and looking into the crochet method :)

Eh, idk, im liking how they are looking right now. Im sure they arent going to lock up right away, and i am going to try my damndest to be able to support myself and have the dreads. Everything is up in the air for me in my life right now, in eighteen days i graduate. and where i go from there, idk. But my dreads are most likely coming with me either way..

btw, how would the crochet method work out in the long run if i were to continue growing my dreads?

They look really tight off the bat and stay that way.

I'm not a fan personally though, because I don't like super neat and tidy dreads. Looks too artificial for my taste
