thats one thing i really like the catholic church for...they are one of the biggest skeptiks of miricals and such
while i was a Christian, yes, i felt that miracles did happen to me; yes, i felt that i was healed through "God's" power, and yes, i certainly did feel that i had a personal relationship with "God". i no longer feel these things, and understand that i was self-deluded, unconscious and immature. how is it at all possible for you to make this statement? in what way are you capable of measuring a person's desire or possession of spirit? how can you or anyone assert that people who stay with "God" are in a full relationship, and those who abandon the faith were never in a full relationship? because belief is a private matter, there is no way to tell if those who renounce their religion were ever true-blue believers or half-assed believers to begin with. peace, sophia
No covenant=no christian ~ This is a lie. An evil lie! you're confusing Mark with John You really should learn something of the doctrine you so blindly follow! Your statement indicates you know nothing about the history of the christian gospels! You're still young, though. So take a little time to find out exactly how and when the gospels came into being.
You say it's a lie? Do you know what I mean by 'covenant'? It was John, it's even obvious, on the end of his book, that Jesus said he was the one to write all this down. John is also the only apostel who wrote a seconed book: Revelation. And what do you mean with 'that you so blindly follow!'?
I suggest that you find out exactly who the actual 'author" of John was! Only those who seek will find
John 21:23-25 23 Then this saying went out among the brethren that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but, "If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you?" 24 This is the disciple who testifies of these things, and wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true. 25 And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen. NKJV Mark's book didn't say anything of the sort. random info about the two Gospels: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospel_of_John http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospel_of_Mark
You don't get it kid ~ Mark is the only authentic christian gospel. The rest are all fakes that are based upon Mark. Christian theologists now affirm this to be true. Sorry to disturb your delusion. Know the truth and the truth will set you free!
ummm...ryu, if you read the entire selections you posted, youd find that lotts of them have disputed authorship, infact for Mathew [my favorite] most scollars just accept it as anonymous...
I know, that's why I put 'random' info about Mark and John, these sources point out that there is much more controversy about John then Mark. And they're actually questioning if John(apotel) wrote the gospel or not. While there's no claim for mark. A source having some parts of this cotroversy in it: http://web.syr.edu/~jrpierce/JohnHist.htm
You can take anything and twist it to fit your belife... I'll use the bible for example since this is the Christian part of the forums. You can take one verse and twist it to mean many diffrent things. To make it true or false. But if you read the surrounding text and take the time to find the Greek/hebrew meaning of the word use it makes it more clear. But really does it matter what she belives? she is 15 and is a Christian so she catches alot of "to young to stupid" comments. What if she was a 15 year old athiest or some other religion? She'd probley get "your on the right path way to go"
Point being. Let her belive what she wants to belive. I've been on both sides of the non religious and religious fence. Trust me when people say you belive the wrong thing is just annoying...Not becaues its diffrent but becaues its not their choice to make its yours.
I've got a 37 year head start on you ~ enjoy your research into the truth, I hope you find it, even if, like me, it is eventually; that is still better than not at all! Rea... I've read things for and against that statement...which leaves it open for personal belife like it always does. 37 years of life dosen't mean 37 years of going the right direction. for all we know she could be way ahead of all of us.
