move closer to me, and we'll see! I still like O'brien best as engineer, mostly cuz he had a nice accent. Geordie irritated the piss out of me, and I never really liked Scotty for some reason
well i never graduated college or got a degree but i dreamed about computers before there were any small enough to fit in your living room let alone on your desktop or that an individual mere mortal could afford. i was already in high school when the FIRST star trek series started and thought it was the best thing ever and still think at the time that it was. and i did build my first from kits before you could even buy in a store. along with a lot of other things like a modular analog synthasizer. majored in geology, got a job as a driller's helper on a survey drill contracted to a copper mine and ended up running a glorified backhoe for the railroad for a while before i quit and went to live on a comune for a little while. all that was before there were computer stores or the isa bus. there was s-100 and that 44 pin thing. i did make it to the first west coast computer show, that was in 73 if i remember it right. job's and wosniac had something in a square mettal project box they called an apple ONE! and papertape reader/punches were the 'hot' item for external storage. (in short i was in many of the right places at many of the right times and never smart enough, or lucky enough, to do anything about it that did myself any (material) good. i suppose the bizdroid mentality would call that a tragidy, but what the hell, i ain't bitching, i had fun.) =^^= .../\...
i'm a geek. i was never cool enough or smart enough to be a nerd, though my boobs were big enough in high school that they made me an honorary member.
Im a bit of a loser, not a nerd. I dont think I have the smarts to be a nerd. I do hole myself up in my room on the computer though so I figure loser will just be my title. I think losers listen to top 40 ... and I must admit, I do this also.
i tend to think of myself as a well rounded nerd, i dont just dig on star trek or star wars etc... i like it all love star trek, star wars. babylon 5, doctor who, hitchikers guide to the galaxy...havent got to see much blake 7 or space 1999 though...i cant stand anime, i could never get into it...
though the sort of nerd i am forced me to notice that you misspelled "you're." used the wrong form. "your" being possessive, "you're" being the contraction of "you are." sorry.
im a nerd. i can take a computer 100% apart and put it all back together and itll work. im a+ certified. None of you fuckers are nerds. nobody has mentioned Magic the Gathering.\
