Given how she has been treating you, you might want to consider giving notice. The reason for that is that if she then would prefer you leave right away she is obligated to pay you your notice.

 

i suppose it depends on a few things. if it's just a summer job, how much longer would you be there anyway? if you have 2 more days, it seems pointless to do anything but finish the summer and move one. if you're there through september, then that's a very different story.

unless your goal is to collect unemployment of course.

well the pizza place didn't do anything to her. the crappy employer will have to spend two minutes explaining that they didn't order pizza and then forget about the whole thing. the poor pizza guys will waste 10 minutes making a dozen pizzas, waste 20 minutes making a fake delivery that gets them no tip or even mileage reimbursement, and then get yelled at by upper management because food cost was shit for the day.

 

You're entirely correct, doing that to a pizza place is the act of an absolute bastard, me! But consider I was banking on the assholes at the B&B to do the right thing by a local supplier. Sure, it's a dick move, but some dicks deserve it entirely.

 

I'm supposed to be here until the end of september. I'm not hanging around that long this is bullshit. She has taken to ignoring me and my coworker almost completely. Yesterday I had decided to give it a week and see if anything improves, but if this is how she acts I doubt I can wait that long.

 

everyone says horrible things about everyong. usually without intention or thinking about it. not saying that's an innocent thing to do. it isn't.
but it is also a thing that happens. putting up with the crap that is how people are, is one of the prices of having a job.
not having one has other prices. often extremely inconvenient ones.
so that's the tradeoff. that's what it is.

 

There is a big difference between two coworkers or friends or aquaintances saying things like that and a boss in a professional setting. If a boss has an issue with an employee, it is between them and that employee. They aren't supposed to go telling coworkers these things. It is so unprofessional. I have never had a job where a boss treated me like this and I'm not hurting for money so badly that I need to put up with this crap.

I worked with someone like that before, and she was a captain to me along with others. She tried to drive me out, becasue she had a crush on someone who had a crush on me...she made life almost unbearable for me, but I stuck it out just to spite her. After the saeson was over, i never went back, ever again....but what haell she put me thorugh, so I understand what you are going through....and i am sorry you are going through it.

 

I went through a similar situation at work years ago where I had a manager who was pretty evil and would always say bad things about people. I thought about quitting or transferring but I stood my ground and started treating her the same way she treated us. Some people think they can do and say whatever they want but sometimes people start to hit back and its only then that maybe they will change.

 

I think everyone naturally talks behind your back especially at work. Even the ones who seem glorified are quickly scrutised by those around them the moment they have a sick day or something.

I don't know what people say about me. Don't know enough to care, but I bet they do. Especially in some of my older jobs.

technically, i think he probably has a fart machine.

but even so, it's not actually the air that we hear in a fart situation, is it? i really don't know, but i always assumed that the sound was skin flapping against skin as the escaping air alternately pushed and released it.

in which case the obvious thing would be to seriously say goodby to that one. and that does sound more then a little odd.
i'm guessing the person in question didn't get their position by earning it. unless it was by being demoted.

two possibilites occur to me, form or join a union, that's sort of what they're for, or pick a thoroughly inconvenient time, and just quietly walk out.
some things are after all, best served cold.
