yeh if I'm hungry, except its not a 5 second rule its like a 1 minute rule unless the floor is really really gross.
Thank you for your honesty. I was homeless for a few months in my late teens/ early 20's. Eating food off of a floor was the least of my problems. When you are going through trash cans and evaluating the food for it's eatable quality then let's talk about an "icky" factor.
i read a study saying to ignore the 5 second rule and that if the floor is relatively clean and dry it's ok to eat,
It definitely depends on the floor. The kitchen floor? I go for it. But, say, the bathroom floor? Ugh- I feel dirty just walking on it. Also depends on the food. An M&M is safer than a piece of fruit or something.
Too often I'll eat right off the floor with my best friend, I can't stand the thought of wasting food. Especially spilled breakfast cereal...
thats so funny I found this forum because just today I dropped my pretzel on the ground and said to myself " eh five second rule" lol blew it off looked at it and laughed and was like oh well, what can it hurt right? I guess it doesnt bother me that much unless it was the peanut butter side of my PB+J and then I might feed it to the animals outside LOL
Only from my own floor and within the five second rule. Hey, HomerJ where did you get this image? Does it mean anything?
