Yeah, I know that The Who was there... they absolutely hated Woodstock. Pete Townshend was totally pissed off about the whole event. I think the thing he hated the most was the fact that the sound system kept shorting out and causing these terrible crackles and whatnot. He was getting so pissed that he just started bashing the guitar into the sound equipment (NOTE: this is after he stopped destroying guitars and whatnot for show, this was out of pure rage) and eventually, he *threw* his guitar into the audience. As I recall, he also hated the fans... in an interview, he just kept bitching about them. Plus, I'd love to see The Who, The Doors, & Jimi Hendrix all at one event... that'd be simply amazing. I read that The Doors gave an *amazing* performance of "When the Music's Over" at The Isle of Wight Festival. That'd have been great to have seen.
I would give anything to have seen Jim Morrison perform...anything at all. From the stories I have heard, especially from my mom, I would die to have been there. Jim, without a doubt..
You should get that new Doors DVD of live performances in Europe in 1968 with Jefferson Airplane. Sounds like you'd like that.
yes, you're right. The Who, The Doors and Jimi Hendrix at one festival, that must have been spectacular.
The Grateful Dead 1972-1978. I'd be with them for every show for all six years. Then move to "the Farm" in Tennessee and retire.
