I hate clothes and I'm not shy so I'd probably go nude all the time everywhere.

If public nudity was legal, I would almost never wear clothes!

I'd only put something on if I needed protection from an activity I was doing, like welding, torching, etc. That & if the weather was too cold to stay out for prolonged periods. I do already go outside nude in single digit weather if I just need to take something out to the car or go to my shop for something. It's quite surprising how much your body gets used to the cold if you let yourself be exposed to it.

For many it's not just an issue of legality, but also an issue of social acceptance. I know other nudists who are very hush-hush about their nudity and would require more than just a change in the laws before they'd go nude in places they don't usually go nude.

Yes, the title is "If public nudity was legal", as if that makes all the difference in the world. But how about "If going around in public wearing a swimsuit was legal, would you do it?" And it is legal--maybe not in Saudi Arabia--but hardly anyone ever does it except at the beach. People would stare, they'd ask questions, they'd make sure you felt out of place and embarrassed. Even if nudity were legal, if almost everyone disapproved of it, most of us wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.

And another thing, when there's any chance to be naked it's usually middle-aged men who are the most likely ones to be getting their clothes off. Is everyone OK with that?

That's because it's taken that many years to get over the prudery surrounding nudity.

I already spend a lot of time naked in fairly secluded parks; although I have surprised more then a few people. I love being naked, and, weather permitting, would be naked everywhere.

I'd certainly be nude in my house and yard. Driving maybe. I don't think I'd walk down the street, but if it were indeed legal I might change my mind as the culture changes. Actually, because the culture would change, albeit slowly, it's really hard to answer this question.

When our weather is nice, my wife and I are always nude in our backyard. It's fairly private unless someone climbs the fence and looks over, or uses a drone with a camera. It feels good to be naked.

I am against legalizing, abuses would occur.

If public nudity was legal, for sure less abuses. It's like being in topless now in.a ordinary beach, very normal and no body is scaring.Fifty years ago was not like that.

If I remember correctly. Frisco had lax nudity laws and men were out shaking their money maker in kids parks. Which ruined it for everyone.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't go with society if all laws against public nudity were gone. I like clothes too much. Also, I think guys might look at me funny. And I get cold easily.

San Francisco (not Frisco!) had NO nudity law until too many exhibitionists ruined it for everybody. But it had nothing to do with either kids or parks.

Really it did have something to do with parks. The city set up what they called "parklets" which have now been copied by other cities. You can look the word up on Wikipedia. The nudity that was considered to be a problem in San Francisco centered on a parklet called the Jane Warner Plaza, and it was indeed the exhibitionists who threw away their own freedom along with everyone else's there.

Which is worse, running a stop sign and possibly hurting or killing someone or being naked on your own property and not bothering anyone..

Then why do you only get a ticket for running a stop sign, but go to jail for being naked.. WYH????

Someone please explain why the law is so screwedup..

Religion. People are taught that sexual "impurity" is worse than violence.

The textile world sees the human body as shameful and in need of a covering. The pornographic industry has only added to this by reducing the human body to a mere sex toy.

Pure unadulterated public nudity can only happen when we learn to accept the human body as a beautiful creation; and raise our kids to not be ashamed of how they look.
