It's not so much the law any more, but business policies that are influencing public perception of the nude Human body.

Florida Young Naturists are doing a very great thing by holding very successful musical party weekends at a naturist resort several times each year. Unfortunately they insist on using Facebook to publicize it because it is so popular. BUT! Facebook reflexively deletes their accounts if they so much as place a LINK to their web site because it contains pictures of nude young adults enjoying the festivities during the festivals. This kind of censorship is pervasive and LEGAL because it is the 800 ton gorilla of Facebook and not the government suppressing their speech.

Since the younger generation is growing up with sites like Facebook and Pinterest that have expressly forbidden simple nudity, their impressionable young users assume that nudity must be wrong and that is very difficult to correct when web companies legally censor our opposing viewpoint.

So laws are not even necessary any more, the sheep are following another voice. More is the pity.

Legality is often not the issue. It's usually whether or not it is socially acceptable. I know of many places where it is perfectly legal to be naked in public, yet most of the people are clothed.

However, if it were legal - and commonly accepted as such - I would be naked in public far more often. I find it far more exhilarating to be naked among a mixed clothed/naked crowd than to be naked among an entirely naked crowd.

I agree with some of the posts on here. If it was legal but was coupled a more tolerant acceptance, I would have no problem being nude everywhere I went. Even if society wasn't quite ready, I would do so not to push the envelope but to be able to show textiles that nudity could be fun and healthy.

I would love to go to work, workout in the gym, go to the grocery store and bookstore nude. It is also my dream to go downtown (and not get arrested) and just walk around, maybe check out the stores and such.

I would have sunbathed nude in the park today if it was legal.

I've always thought that when two people were kissing and someone yelled out "Yo, get a room!!" It was always because that person was just jealous.

What I don't understand is if someone is kissing another person's oral lips in public that's ok, but if they are kissing someone's vaginal lips in public, or sucking someone's cock, that's not ok. That's just another part of the body. Problem, why? U Jealous?

Admittedly, If I saw too good looking people fucking, I would not be able to not look.

    Am I wrong.

In New Zealand public nudity is not illegal. The test is whether it is offensive, but merely being naked is not offensive in itself. The interpretation of this is that it is fine to be naked on on isolated beach, but not say in Lambrton Quay in Wellington. A recent legal case concerned a cyclist who trained naked north of Upper Hutt in a rural area. The decision was that his nakedness was not indecent. There is another before the courts concerning a a jogger who trains naked. It will be difficult for the Crown to prove the charge of offensive behaviour as at the time there was no one else in the bush reserve and it was in the working day.

i heard about people getting fines for giving oral and fines for being nude on the local beach and the fines were the same. i dont think its about kissing i think its about the exposed genitals.

Yeah, would be the same issue with me. I leak like a faucet. I can be totally soft but if I get a sexual thought for half a second, out comes huge amount of goo.

Well I used to work in a factory, dont think i'd like to go naked there, and it would depend, would my nudity disturb others, or would they all be cool of it?

Its not that i would plan to go anywhere nude but if i was nude at home and had to take out the trash or run to get food at a drive through then i would just go. And not worry about getting dressed.

As hot as it's been lately I would definitely opt for nothing while running errands.

Yup it's all good. I think anywhere naked is preferred. Theses responses have been pretty obvious. A better question would be how to "handle" "unwanted" hard ons or pent up sexual desire.

I stopped worrying about getting erections or even half chubs when nude and life is better. Others don't seem to mind and even show interest or approval sometimes. If it happens it happens and most people understand that. The ones that don't soon learn.

I think what might gross people out is the precum mentioned up the thread. Bodily fluids seem to bring out the eww factor in some people so being nude would be best when outdoors so it can just go on the ground and not hurt anything.

Also, nudity encourages good hygiene because it's easier to jump in the shower (nothing to strip off) and you can't neglect washing your nethers like you can while wearing clothes.

I wonder if nudity were the norm if society would adapt to support it, like those urinals they have right on the sidewalk in the Netherlands where guys just walk up, unzip, and piss. A nude society could have showers readily available to wash off. Just daydreaming I guess.

If by "public" you really mean public ... as in the grocery store, the coffee shop, the workplace, basically everywhere ... then that's never going to happen, at least not in the United States, so it's pointless to even be concerned about it.

But I think casual nudity in private settings is very different. Nudity in those situations could be more accepted in this country. In my back yard, for instance, I'm careful only to walk in the part of the yard where I can't be seen by neighbors, even though I have a privacy fence and I doubt they would be bothered anyway. Still, I don't want to risk it. Which is silly, in my opinion.

I do think we should be considerate of people, and not throw nudity in their faces if they don't want to see it. However, in the privacy of my own yard, it's not like I'm flaunting anything. The burden of maintaining any perceived "decency" should be on them, not on me.

Hardboy , I need not be sold on the benefits. And trust me , you will never find a more enthused nudist. I'm thinking of several instances when my gf and I just got busy in the middle of a clothing optional environment. Very impolite. But unfortunately sometime inevitable?

Nobody said they have to look at it.

Besides, I haven't figured out how to "throw" my nudity in somebody's face. It's there for the seeing, or not, just like those nasty slogans on T-shirts that they're throwing in my face.

Ultimately they control where they point their eyes. Freedom = responsibility.

The fact that its still there is the problem, and it offends some people.
