This is Regan's Husband, Matthew...Mandred was born on 8/21 at 8:12 am...there were some complications after 30 hours of labour, the contractions were 3 mins apart but the cervix was not dialating...so they had to do a C-section and we found that during a contraction he was caught the wrong way so the C-section would had to have anyways...but, baby and mom are doing great...he's breastfeeding and Regan's in some pain, but still okay...she made sure to make me tell everyone on here.
Yay! Welcome Mandred! And happy healthy healing vibes are coming your way from all over the world right now! {{{{hugs}}}}
Wow! I am home for a couple hours on a day pass (well.. more like a 3 hour pass) and are heading back to the hospital here in a couple minutes. Mandred is a little jaundice, so we have to go back to get some blood tests and then possiably have him spend some time under the lamps. As my husband reported, labour didn't exactly go as planned. I was in labour for over 30 hours, intense labour with 2 minute contractions coming every 3 minutes for the last 3 hours.... and from the time my water broke it turned out I had only progressed 1.5cm! Manny wasn't in any distress, but I sure was... which was when I agreed on the c-section. Turns out that we would have had to have a c-section anyway, as he was stuck in a semi-breach position.. presenting head AND a shoulder! But the c-section itself went well. I am still in a lot of pain, around the cut itself and in my back. Mandred is feeding like a little piggy.. hahaha... and my nipples are killing me but I WILL SOLDIER ON! I promised myself that at least ONE thing from my labour plan will happen! haha! Oh! And I have a new pic of us, taken when he was just a day old (taken at 9am, and he was born the day before at 8:12). I think he is pretty cute, but I might be just a bit bias! lol! Thanks for all the healing thoughts! -regan
Oh, he's so cute and tiny! And he doesn't need those lamps! SUNSHINE! Give him sunshine! That works better than any lamps... And you'll do fine with the breastfeeding, mama! Just keep trucking....Don't wear a shirt if you don't have to and let those puppies air out!
YOU GUYS LOOK GREAT! what a little cutie!!!!! i'm sure you'll do great at the bfing. Everyone always says the beginning is the hardest and then it always gets easier and easier. And yeah, like holly said, let them boobies hang out!!! That made mine always feel a 1000% better!!! I'm sorry you didn't get to have your ideal labour you wanted, but it's great to hear everyone is doing well!
