This is an assignment, so we're probably marked on how iambicy our sonnets are

But since I'm first semester, they're easier with the marks. I won't really get marks taken off for not following the structure perfectly.

By the way, I added all your words to my list

 

My book says, iamb = uX.
u = unstressed
X = stressed

My book says:

for|get|ful|ness
u|X|u|u

 

that's why i'm protesting the ones put there. i say all those words the way i typed them. my daughter's name is a iamb, though: kaiRIN.

 

If you can't tell, I'm confused.

 

If some of them are trochees, I'll do what Redhead said and put a word infront

 

both of those are stressed syllables followed by unstressed syllables the way i pronouce them. so they wouldn't be iambs. i had to go look it up because i was getting confused, too.
