You should watch Life on Mars. Its about this guy who gets a bang on the head and wakes up in real life in 1973.But he also has people talking to him - hospital doctors trying to "wake him" from a coma that is 1973. You dont know which is real and which is imagined. I'd say its the cleverest television programme EVER , its SOOOOOO well done sometimes. Lots of cultures treat "dream worlds" as real.I even know scientists who believe in parallel worlds stuff. Sometimes I meet someone in a dream and whatever emotions seem to be "carried over" into my waking life...Its weird.. Now where can I meet that Scandinavian girl again...? I'll tell her my weapon needs looking at..
I'm still dreaming about her now... Or *maybe* I need to wake up and see her. U can actually get lucid dream machines , if u cant do lucid dreaming "naturally". They detect the eye movement in dreaming and flash red lights. So u are told u are dreaming , but dont wake u up.
that sounds like something i want to try on me. can they see what i am dreaming ? or they know i am dreaming but are in total unawareness what exactly ?
Haha, I don't think they can see what your dreaming. How would that work? The device just registrates that you are dreaming by your eye movement and thus can give you a sign to make you aware of it.
Greenie, Actually, from your initial post - people with anxiety (and et al) share that dream. The World is an imperfect place with full of assholes. One asshole will make you assume that there are only assholes - sorta one bad apple makes the rest rot. The challenge is to find a "safe haven" in it - somewhere you can "hide". There are many ways to do it. At work bring a calendar that features your favorite cartoon characters, is a way to "color" life. Having your Ipod play your fave music will distract your mind from say going to the hospital because someone you love/like is dying/sick. There are gazillion of ways to do that - it's the old - "count to ten before exploding"...in this case being "I'll think of something else before I barf on that asshole"...
well sometimes this world can suck, but that`s a good think actually. There must be black so you can know what white is. there must be assholes so u can appreciate the sane people
I agree. I disagree. I agree - yes, you need grades to tell the colors. I disagree - why? We don't need evil - wouldn't it be just fine if there was no disease, hunger, war & mean people? :cheers2:
ah i want to talk about obsession now. i`m in a strangely philosophical mood today and i really , highly doubt i can talk about such matters with my wastage friends. so about the obsession. I am a person who extremely easily falls into obsession about different things. And i mean obsession in it`s highest form. Not about all things, but about many things. I can get to the point where i can think of it 24/7 and not be able to stop even if i want to. and usually its about little insignificant things, nobody else would ever notice. but i do get obsessed with this and that, and all my brain capacity and power radiates force towards the object of mt obsession. and that makes me think of another thing-the brain power. the mind power. that we can change things with the power of our thoughts and we can really change them dramatically, to the point when this change is visible...
Well, that's how athletes, astronauts and so many more people obtain a specific goal - with the mind. Bruce Lee trained as much his brain as his body. Love is actually in the brain - can you "see" love? Invisible chains are tougher than visible ones - people kill themselves over the fact that they are not love by that one special person.
well yes but evil is necessary i think. and evil is a point of view. and sometimes evil is very helpful. but yes i do think it would be way better if there were no mean people and war and hunger and disease , but sooner or later in the perfect state of peace and happiness something will break and evil will appear once more. that`s how the world is made. there must be balance, equilibrium between those two forces. water and earth, man and woman, ing and yang ...something like that
It's tough to say if we NEED a balance of all things or we've come TO BELIEVE we NEED that balance. Is there something that doesn't exist or is it more something we haven't thought of? It's a philosopher's arguement - very old - some people will say that a winged horse exist, we just haven't found him. The proof by the negation arguement (Emmanuel Kant). Yet, there is proof of what you say by proof of experience - night & day, female & male, positive & negative, ect...et al...
i think that too much good leads to bad. That too much goodness is the source of evil. like when u have a lot of money u want some more and more. when are given u crave for more. and i guess that`s just naturally genetic thing for humans to be greedy and gluttonous. but all that is good may reveal all the worst in you. and maybe everything exists. just as soon u think of it it exists. i mean if you think of it it must exist right ? in your head or not, its an idea and the idea exists wow i don`t know how many times i said the word exists
This world is balanced out fine. It's ying/yang even if it doesn't looks like it sometimes. It's just fascinating to take a trip to alternative worlds, it shouldn't be an escape. Who needs mean people? Everyone! 'Evil', diseases and hunger are natural and should be limited but not regarded as imperfect. It belongs in the bigger picture. War maybe not, and you might wanna fight against it, just not start one and it's all good
