i rode my bike to the convenience store and got a tallboy of steel reserve and a bomber of blue moon. the blue moon wouldnt scan, so he just charged me for two steel reserves instead. so i got a big bottle of blue moon for well under 2 bucks:cheers2:
I haven't tried Blue Moon. I've trie Full Moon though. It's pretty good. Iwent to te store and bought two 24oz cans of Schlitz High Gravity VSL. I'm feelin it Steel Reserve isn't so bad after you get accustomed to it, is it? lol
nah, but i still prefer OE or schlitz red bull...but this beats hurricane, and mickey's is too weak. if i'm going cheap i'm going strong, too, usually
nesta, i always think a bowl hits smoother and tastes better when it's brand new or cleaned vs resonated. resin makes it taste worse and harsher because the resin starts to heat up and vaporize a little. blue moon is a great beer. the regular one is the best, but they also have a summer style (yellow label), fall style (orange), full moon (winter style), and rising moon (spring - green label). oh yea, and pale moon (like a pale ale -brownish red label) they're all pretty good lennie's sunset wheat is good too, but a little on the sweet side. i wouldn't wanna drink too many in a row. the honey weiss is much better.
i have always found that brand new bowls taste the best, but the smoke is the hottest and hits the easiest it ever will, and i tend to get much harsher hits as a result. it kills my throat, but i get very high and love the flavor. once it resinates heavily it sometimes doesn't taste as good, but it doesn't inherently taste bad depending largely on the quality of your stuff. and it smokes cooler and smoother, and slightly slower, more control over when it goes out.
i hear ya i guess but to me resin harshness is worse than just heat harshness i guess i just have my one friend's bowls in mind. he smoke A LOT and never cleans his pipes (and not great weed, but decent) so his bowls always taste nasty, but i can't pass up all the free tokes
also blue moon is an excellent beer considering it's made by coors. it's fairly affordable and it tastes pretty nice, so i buy it sometimes and when i do i really like it. but it's not a very good witbier. witbiers are really tasty, they're made with some wheat malts, coriander and orange peel when they're brewed. blue moon is tasty, but it's belgian counterparts are even better. i like hoegaarden and wittekerke a lot, and it's very expensive but i like brasserie de rocs blanche double is expensive but very, very good. and unibroue's blanche de chambly, from canada, is very good as well
yeah, you have to clean it out occasionally at least. resinated only to a point. sometimes i feel scraping is enough, sometimes i use alcohol to get it as clean as possible. but it can make the hit a lot smoother if its at just the right state. lower quality pot ruins it much, much faster, too.
its got a lot more fruit flavor to it. and i suspect blue moon uses a sweet orange for the flavoring rather than the type of orange hoegaarden uses. but i like it better, myself.
you like which one better? hoegaarden? you always have much to say about beers. i knew the conversation would get detoured from new bowl/weed to tasty beers...
well anyway, i dont even have shitty beer left. so i'm torn between finishing off half a bowl in the rain before bed and wishing i had a cigarette to walking to the store in the rain and getting cigarettes....
