just revel in the fact that they will never leave that town, that their bullying of you is due to jealousy and low self- esteem. really, don't take it personally, they are the ones with the problem. you're beautiful, and seemingly very mature. stay strong; it'll be over soon, girl!

Kinda depressing that being immature and emo are considered virtues today compared with mature and confident. :)

I dunno, Danielle. Do you consciously or subconciously let your classmates know that you think you're so much over their heads and that they are just immature little teenies?

I for one know that it is possible to be smart and mature and still get along well with your classmates - popular even. Just don't look down your nose.

i don't i try starting conversations with people, especially with like group projects and everything. like, i'm not the most social person, but i can carry a conversation. and i had a few friends in middle school, but in high school they all kind of ditched me for the "cool kids" and now i'm just a loner. i do treat people really nicely though. like, i hold open doors, help people pick up books they've dropped, etc. i guess it's just one of those label things that wont go away.

By nature some people are leaders, others are followers. A very few are loners. There's not a lot that can be done to change one's basic personality, so if you are a loner you may have to be satisfied with just one or two friends. Fuck the others (not literally)

yeah, i do kind of enjoy being a loner. especially in the lunch room.. just observing the sociological aspect of it.. it's amazing. like, the way they place themselves in socioeconomic groups without even realizing it (well some might, i dont know). i just find that more fun than sitting with people talking about what you're going to do over the weekend.

Do you have a boyfriend at least? I he on an intellectual plane with you, or is he just a boy toy?

Hmmm, Maybe that's a southern expression - sorry. Allow me to re-phrase. You have said you don't have any (many?) friends, so I'm asking if you have, nonetheless, a boyfriend? If so, is he at the same intellectual level?

In reality everyone doesn't hate you. Highschool is vicious.

Well you re-worded it, but it is still reveals a very condescending attitude towards Danielle.
Is she less of a person or incomplete if she doesn't have a boyfriend?
The way you word it is as if she were any type of "decent" or "worthy" person she would nonetheless at the absolute very least have a boyfriend.
Sounds as if maybe you are exhibiting some of the same type of attitudes she is dealing with at school.

Danielle, don't sweat it. The school year has barely started. I'm sure by the end of the year you will have found more friends than you may think possible. If you are the type of person you say you are that does tend to irritate the morons of the world, but don't stop being nice.
Kill 'em with kindness, works 98.5% of the time.

Well, PB. My last comment to Amyoxl was angrier and considerably more critical, which is why I removed it.

Thanks for your take on it.

I agree with amyoxl you project the image that you’re superior to your classmates and they resent it.

Isolating yourself will only make it worse and eventually you’ll convince yourself that you are better and smarter - you’re not [IMG]

Blue...allow me....what the fuck?...none the less is no better than 'at least'...and I dont think OP is saying this is her problem....more like this is ''their'' problem... and how do you know she even likes dudes...could be a stamplicker... Her obvious maturity would negate the need for a boyfriend in school anyway...she is WAY smarter than that and there is nothing wrong with her pointing out the clique gr.2 mentality that high school kids have...my son has exactly the same loathsomeness of cliques at his school...i taught him that he should think for himself...not for the herd
