Who went into the library totally barefoot before you went in and took off your shoes? I'm pretty sure you didn't mention this before, and I'm pretty sure if it had happend, or even if it haden't, you would have said it before now. However, you couldn't state it earlier, because you only just came up with this brilliant lie.

The main points of this thread, as stated in the main post of this thread, are as follows:

That you would even dare to compare your going barefoot in the library to the accomplishments of those you mentioned is an obscene joke against those people who stood up for something of importance to EVERYONE.

You not being able to go barefoot in the library isn't important to ANYBODY except you.

How would those civil rights champions you mentioned have faired in China?

You are so full of shit I can smell it from here. Would you please move to fucking China already.

    Kia Ora Ni Hao!

Does anyone else see it as unfair that some individuals are able to go into places barefoot with immunity and others are immediately rebuked for actually having shoes, but having them next to/even-partially-under their feet?!

I think barefoot policies should be enforced 100% or not at all. I have heard others on this board complain about unequal barefoot policies, and unequal is illegal. This is not 1950 folks. Get used to it.

    Cheers!

For anyone saying that I am comparing myself to Great leaders... I will be a Great leader. Great leaders start small. I will not tolerate being treated any differently or any less than another person. This is one of the reasons I was so shocked at being rebuked. Others can go in completely barefoot (refer to this previous post on the issue)

I saw a lady probably in her 50-60's walking into the library barefoot today. She'd probably been barefoot a while because her soles were as dirty as mine. Strange thing is the other day a security personnel in the library told me that I had to wear shoes into the library because it's a health code issue! Oh well, it was nice to see a fellow hippy barefooter.

    Cheers!

then I will certainly raise the issue if I am not able to too. Where do we draw the line? There are people who are very snakelike, thus they gradually implement policies against certain people, and favoring others.

I will be a great leader just like my Doctorate father, and his father, and our fathers before. If Dr. King, Mr. Malcolm X, Huey, Stokley, Bobby, et. al had just sit down and shut up like they were supposed to, we would live in a different world. God bless those brave enough to stand up for themselves against hateful people. So yes I did use my name in the same sentence with the other greats. And in the future, others will use my name in the same sentence, so get used to it now.

    Cheers!

Yeah, but they were standing up for important issues of equal rights.
Your just whining about having to wear shoes in the library.
    Get over yourself.

You are only seeing the small picture. If that kind of conduct is allowed to go unchecked, where do we draw the line. Great leaders do not become this way overnight. They start small. Getting used to questioning unfair practices and carrying themselves with unwavering pride and confidence. I seriously think that some people see a Black man doing this as a threat. Not my problem because I will not change one thing about myself, or my desire and plan of becoming a Great leader.

I have seen and experienced more evil in a year than you will in a lifetime, and it only adds fuel to my desire. My desire to excel and help others excel and become better than those who look down upon them only grows stronger.

I promise that you are speaking to a great leader, and people will use my name in the same sentence as the other greats.

    Cheers!

Did you stop taking your medication again?
The doctor said if you didn't want to go back to the nice soft room that you had to take your medicine.

I try to hold a serious discussion with the people of this thread, and you want to call names. You are so full of hate toward me, yet you can not pry yourself away from my thread.

Wow, there are people who have fallen a long way.

    Cheers!

That's your rebuttal? I called you on a strait up lie and quoted it, and you give a sadface?

*braces for the hoard of barefoot zealots who think i'm attacking barefooting by attacking idiots*

(seriously, i'm defending barefooting by calling out people who use it as a method of attention whoring, and serious principled barefooters should agree wholeheartedly)

Since you are stalking me, try to read the entire thread, as well as my posts in other threads. You will find your answer there.

And I don't have to rebut you because you are not important. Certain people are becoming more and more irrelevant. It can not be denied. I obviously am somebody because you follow me around trying to discredit and disprove anything I say.

And for those keen to see Mr. Shack proven a liar and apparent troll, read this thread:
    http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=367428&f=403

Sift through for my posts and then tell me that I have never mentioned anyone else barefoot in the library.

Try harder next time Mr. Shack.

    Cheers!

It was a one time thing. Once. Not twice, not thrice. Once. And you are still upset about it 8 pages later.

    I take it you're bored?

Oh, but you don't seem to be able to resist rebutting me, you just can't rebut SOME things... I mean, the post I'm quoting is a rebuttal, saying that you won't rebut me;)

I don't need to do MUCH discrediting, but I suppose every bit helps?

I can't find my OWN post in that thread, try being more specific? Not reading the whole thing...

Nope.... I don't need to sift this thread, I don't have that sort of time for you. But I'm reasonably certain you are talking about different people in different librarys. Even if they where in your library, any reasonable management would ask a troublemaker such as yourself to GTFO. China will soon lead the world, so you have no place whatsoever in a public library paid for primarily by anglos in the most anglo state of them all.

I don't think that your pain/unhappiness at this game being played matters to these people (meaning PB or rootboyslim) much as I share your feelings. Perhaps it's best to retreat from this thread and let them have their little rants. All of them, including iowa.

Interesting. I take no offence at your post, but I will have to subtract reputation from you for failing to be able to read my name (that is, confusing the UNIX reference in my signature with RooR brand bongs, the reference in my name) and for somehow associating me with some sort of rap.

Talking about UNIX references, why don't we go kill -9 -1 on this thread?

I mean, this is about (to round it up):

    1) yes, it is unfair that libraries (college, municipal, whatever) are discriminating against people's choice of footwear or the lack thereof. There have been precedents of people even going that far as to try the legal system for making their cause legitimate... and who, sadly, lost. Best known example: Robert A. Neinast, SBL member.

    2) yes, it can be viewed as part of our civil rights to be barefoot where we want, since most constitutions in so-called democratic nations have the pursuit of happiness and free development of the individual written into them. For instance, the German "Grundgesetz" has that written down in Article 2. So, since walking barefoot makes me happy, I am just living up to my constitutional right and someone barring me from that is violating it. Simple as that.

    3) While comparing the cause of barefooting to the fights and accomplishments the aforementioned civil rights icons went through and made is something along the line of not only comparing apples and oranges, but - to put it to scale - rather of comparing watermelons and cranberries, the basic principle of standing up to one's civil rights remains the same, even though the matter dealt with is rather small if not minuscule in comparison to what Dr. King, for instance, was facing and was assassinated for.

So, can we just stick with this and move on quietly on our bare feet...? This loudness is what I normally experience from people wearing clunky shoes.
    :p

    Wiggling toes,
