I tried to help a band and this happens..

That's the thing, I don't feel like I've actually done anything wrong besides using foul language to someones mom... But that's not even bad, she's been around the block, she's heard the "F" word before.

I'm being paid to play at this venue they were expecting to play at. And for those kids to leech on to it and automatically assume they are opening for me and getting a part of my money just hurts... And for the parents to tell me that their kid should be allowed to do it? Who the fuck are they to tell me how to run my band and shit.

They're lucky I'm not the one promoting this show since it's still a new venue to me...They promote their own shows since the bar has such a big reputation. They usually don't do metal but they're making a big night out of this.. It's gonna be killer. If the metal crowd likes the venue I could probably talk them into letting me bring more shows there... Having this venue in my pocket could mean having a place with a BIG capacity which means more tickets.. And you know what that means.

Shit.. I think about this stuff so far ahead of time. This is why I'm at where I'm at now.. Those kids are probably sleeping or playing CoD while I'm organizing shows. I fucking love working!!

Drumagog is sound replacement, correct? So what does having new mics have to do with using drumagog?

Haha heavy duty drum mics? So what you were using 57s before or something? What mics are you talking about? They must not be that good if you still think you'll need to use drumagog, that's all I'm saying. I'm spoiled though, I have free mic access because of the recording school I'm going to atm.

 

I meant "heavy duty" just for the bass drum mic because it's a bigger microphone.. My friends don't know the difference between all the mics (even though it's completely obvious) so I have to make easily recognizable words for them to remember.

The kicks are heavy duty, the toms/snare are mini mics, and the condesners are dick shaped things. That's what I have to say if I want them to know what I'm talking about... They need to do some research because now I'm actually starting to use that vocabulary.. And that's not acceptable.

EDIT: I have to make up so many words so my friends can understand what I'm talking about.. I should write them a dictionary or something with all the words I've had to make up.

 

No offense at all, because I've just started really learning these things the last 3 months, but you sound pretty ignorant on mics. I'm trying to gain as much knowledge as I can, there is just so much damn equipment out there available. Find out the actual mic names if you can, since I'd like to hear what you record I want to know what you recorded with.

I've heard good things about drumagog, but since it's sound replacement and can not be written by midi, I haven't gotten to use it yet. Me and my buddy program our drums, we don't know a drummer that could play the style of drums we are looking for unfortunately. Maybe you could, but no one I've met in Houston. Anyways, I'd hope my drummer had a nice enough set and I miced the drums properly to not have to use drumagog often or at all, but like I said I'm talking out my ass because I haven't used the program yet. Have you used it before? What's your wet/dry ratio most often, as in how much are you replacing the sound?
