my parents bought a little place in garden grove 20 years ago for 120k and now the riduculous little box is appraising for 600k. all that money to live in the smog and congestion & cranky overworked, financially over extended people.

no shit. but my parents are fixing it up to perfection for when they pass so that my little brother & sister can split the proceeds when my parents die. they're also fixing up my house in florida for me, if there's a florida left...

yup. lovely stuff. i remember being extremely young and happy, walking out into the water with my mother holding my hand. the sun was warm, the water was gentle, and my mother picked me up and held me in her arms because it lulled me to sleep. that's my happiest, safest memory.

thats what happened with my moms house. it's about 14-15 hundred square feet 1/2 an acre. she bought it for 140 thousand when I was 10 and now it's worth 800k as of last month. we live in the historical district so they give approx appraisals every 3 months

yeah, they do those appraisals so that they can raise your property taxes and usher out all the poor folks who can't afford it any more. sickening.

My interview was almost 2 hours though so that's an awesome sign. If I get it I will be managing inclusion at ymca licensed programs for sand iego and imperial counties.
