I need to contact my spirit guide NOW!

Also, even before I read Liquidlight's post, I wanted to say to expect communication with your guide(s) in dreaming.
I see you have had significant dreams in this (imo), and I recommend you keeping a journal upon waking of your dreams, especially when you feel it is a communication with the spirit realm.
That was my first experience I specifically remember in beginning a (now sorta long time ago) communication with my spirit guide...in dreaming.

Lynn is right mysterious night ... it just doesn't happen like that 99% of the time anyway. Our guides aren't really able to just pop up in some spectral form and tell us verbally what to do (like in 'Quantum leap' or something), it would be too easy, they're not our nannys!
You could describe guides as friends and equals who didn't incarnate with us this time around and they're with us to help but not to do everything for us and make every decision for us. But they can give us the insight of their breadth of vision and understanding of being in spirit.
Or we go to them, which is what we're supposed to be doing anyway by remembering that we are in spirit too, but we took on an extra dimension of form and body and we got immersed in that form and began to think that was all there was and forgot we were actually spirit. We are kind of in two worlds at once ... our guides have kind of got the easy job; we took on the hard job of incarnating into this physical world to wake up and remember spirit, and in doing so we wake up everything here and 'spiritualise matter' ...we learn to see that this world is also a spiritual realm.

So what i'm saying is we can't expect our guides to sink down to our vibrationary state all the time because the conciousness that they are runs the risk of becoming trapped in form just as ours has done, and then they wouldn't be able to help so well ... That's why we came and not them ... they are in a sense a part of us that needed to remain in spirit to maintain a connection with spirit.

If we want to communicate with spirit we need to remember we are spirit and become that. In a sense im saying we need to meet them halfway and not expect them to do all the work.
Which is why dreaming is the best natural meeting ground, we kinda go there anyway when we sleep. It's the astral, kinda halfway between us and the source and we travel through there every night when we go into deep sleep and return to the source.

It is also possible to meet guides in our waking state, in a sensory and visual way, but that's kinda like honours degree, PHD doctorate stuff where our whole identity has switched from physical being to spiritual being.

 

So, all it is is forgetting you're human or something? Or remembering that you once were not human? Do yours communicate with you in dreams or in waking life? I don't want them to live my life for me (although it seems appealing sometimes) I just want clarity on this situation that I'm getting myself into.

 

MysteriousNight, what you have is a control issue. You can't let go. You're driven by fear of what might happen if you give up control. What you need to understand is that you're not in control now, and never have been. Let the river flow, and let it take you where it will. There is comfort in surrender to the greater forces.

 

Sometimes the only way to make progress is to just go with what you want at this moment and see where it takes you.

If you insist on being certain, it's like shackling yourself to a post, and you never make any progress.

Sometimes what you fear is what you need, and there is no other way to make further progress.

As one who has lost almost everything in pursuit of my dream, I say to you: Let go and follow your whims, or you may never find out who you were meant to be.

 

It's funny how you mentioned the river flow because for the past few months I've been telling myself that: to just go with the current and not try to resist or force anything. Maybe it is a control issue, but aren't there certain things that I have control over when it comes to life? Do I need to give up total control?

 

look up on the net how to go into a trance and try to come into contact with them. you have to quiet yourself and invite them in, then they'll be eager to help once they know youre asking for it..

 

I just want their help. I want to feel like I'm not alone in all of this and that I can truly surrender my burdens to them and that they will take care of me.

 

i noticed that if you cant see your spiritual guide and ask for help trying to see them you will get many answers along these categories:

1) your not spiritual enough. you have to read so and so's book and be a level ten spiritual vegan.

2)they are around you all the time you just can see them. or hear them. or touch them. or really know they are there.

3)your not supposed to see them they are thoughts inside your head communicating through love.

4) this is the funniest one! you have to go to spiritsRus.com and play the trippy movie while listening to the trippy music and meditate for half an hour while burning your favorite incense!

5) you have to be a believer to see them, if you question anything we say in the spiritual believers club then your are kicked out and you cant see spirits, sucks for you!

but it sounds to me like your just 'trying' to hard.

Every spiritual expirience i've ever had was not
brought on by anything I had any control over.

We can't be free by buying slavery, wether it be for cotton pickin', or whether it be on the matter of control.

You don't have to forget, or pretend you're not human, you just have to realize, "We are not Human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a Human experience".

Have you communicated with your guides at all? If not, you may want to meet them first. It's like the difference between asking a random pedestrian for 50$, or a close friend. Ask them to come to you. Meditate, dance, drum, whatever, to get yourself into a trance. Ask them to come be with you, feel their presence. Spiritual mentors are not only advisors, they are also friends.

MysteriousNight, I'm so sorry - it's just not a rose-petal-strewn path, and was never meant to be.

It's meant to challenge you and stretch your borders. That never happens without some anxiety and...dare I say it?...maybe some pain...

In my mind a few years ago, my current spirit guide Deanna told me telepathically, "We grow to enjoy it after a while..." Speaking of the difficulty and the pain of our spiritual paths. It was hard for me to accept it at the time, and often still is, but over the ensuing years I've grown to appreciate what she was saying to me.

Sometimes I consider whether I truly want to have all my superficial wishes granted to me, and most of the time I conclude, "Well, it would be nice, but my life would be so much more...blase..."

And so for all my ranting sometimes, I see in my better moments that I'm getting what I wanted...and the times of ranting become fewer and less intense...

 

I'm not sure if you meant that in a good way or not, but let's just say I've been reading up .

One of the things my spirit guides do is to give me ambiguous messages. I've come to realize that they do that so I'll become aware of whether I decide to take the messages as "good" or "bad." Whether or not to take offense is always our choice. Is the universe loving...or is it not? And if we see the universe as loving, what does that say about our self-esteem?

 

Well, I guess everything is what we make it. Good or bad, hot or cold, whatever we decide it is, is what it becomes. So, thanks for the compliment zen.
