I don't think there's any hypocrisy in the "peace, love" people telling umkazwhatever to go eat shit and die, because he provoked. And for the people who are "correcting" others about genetics and "immune systems," I think you yourself are confused. The danger, as I understand it, of breeding with one's own family is that two people who come from the same parents will have many genes in common, and if those genes are recessive and govern undesirable traits, there is a one-in-four chance (think of the ol' Punnet Square from bio class) that the two recessives combine and the trait becomes... oh, what was the old term they use for when it shows outwardly in the offspring?

It's not about the immune system. Your immune system does not derive from your parents in that way. If that were the case, for one thing, you'd have immunity to all the colds and flus that your parents ever had!

theres seems to be a lot of people that are saying society will be harsh so stop now, if we all followed this rule there would be loads of things that still wouldn't be acceptable now, like homosexuality and witch craft to name two.
I feel that theplath45 should read the posts on this thread and reflect on the concerns about incest and then make an educated choice about wether she should continue with this.
It is very complex theplath and your negative feelings probably come from societies (extreme) negative reaction, although it is not only your feelings you have to think about here, so I think you should discuss this with your brother and reflect on what effect the sex is having on him too.
if it seems that this is going to lead to ongoing guilt feelings in the future it might be best for you to stop because of that because guilt is an extreemly powerful emtion to live with.

Wow! This is a first! Really though, just follow your heart. I could never imagine being sexual with a family member, but that's me. If you and your brother share a deeper bond than most brothers and sisters, good for you! However, the two of you should avoid making any babies. The negative thing is that the two of you should probably keep this under wraps because some people will probably be judgemental. I just believe in love situation that everyone should do what's best for themselves!
