I like that Tom Petty song that starts out with, "Well, She was an American girl, raised on promises..." and then I forget some words and then , "Oh yeah, all right. Tkae it easy baby. Make it last all night. She was... an American girl". And the one where he sings, "Oh oh no Oh Hell yes, Baby put on that party dress. Buy me a drink, Sing me a song. Take me as I come Cause I can't stay long. I feel summer creepin' in and I'm, tried of this town again..." I hope this thread WAS about Tom Petty. I seem to have forgotten. He kind of makes me think he's imitating Bob Dylan, but this is most likely only because they both have that nasal-voice thing gong for them. What was I talking about again?
I like Tom Petty a whole lot.. He's one of my biggest musical influences. He's also responsible for another obsession of mine, Fender Telecasters. I love 'em. 'Got three of 'em.. Joe Walsh is a big hit in my house too.. His stuff with the James Gang is great. I love "Tend my garden". It's the happiest song I've ever heard.
