i learned something cool just now.....

there are a number of substances expected to actually decrease or inhibit NMDA antagonist neurotoxicity (that is, completely or partially prevent olney's lesions)

and some of these substances are used recreationally themselves, or are otherwise pleasant or useful! two or three of them really surprised me

hey i've got a question: has anyone here taken MK-801, and if so how does it differ qualitatively from other NMDA antagonists such as DXM or ketamine? i haven't seen anything stating this outright, but it appears to be the most commonly used substance in the study of the related neurotoxicity in rats, and while i know it is used occasionally by humans recreationally, i haven't yet seen much, or any, information on legal status, prevalance of use, or qualitative differences.

i'm about to head over to erowid to see what they have on it, but i'm curious if anyone present has tried it?

(MK-801, of course, will not prevent olney's lesions as, if anything, it would cause them itself)
