evolution has holes. its not perfect, nowhere near from it. thus, to have faith in it is merely to have a more likely faith. evolution as we know it is not the truth, it is merely a credible idea. while teh anti-evolutionary idea that the eye can only work if all its parts are present is a misdirected logic (for it could be the case that instead, the eye has adapted to use all its parts optimally) , there is teh question as to how each of those units within the eye came about. it cannot be explained at present, scientifically, other than through random mutation. personally i think this is rather silly and there is a lot more involved, but that is only because no random mutation has ever been shown to be beneficial to an organism, it is just a theoretical puzzle, and random mutation fits the holes but it doesnt fit the picture, so to speak.
Actually Bill, the theory isn't random mutations, it's that those with FAVORABLE mutations survive and strive, therefor, they reproduce the most...you're forgetting about Darwinism.
They're still random mutations. It's just (in general) the favorable ones that survive and pass on genes.
i dont think we came from apes, because there is still apes around, why arn't they evolved? i don't really think about it. but i guess we come from star energey or "star dust" from the universe that can only survive on a planet with food and water. 5 billion years later creating us
the question however is how do favourable mutations come about? the only theory is that they randomly occur and in any random sample of mutations, some are going to be more favourable than others and thus go on. however another silly thing about mutation theory is that creatures with mutations dont necessarily even pass them on. (in fact i dont know if they do at all? mutations tend to lead to infertile creatures)
you have a misconception there. evolutionists do NOT claim that humans came from apes that we know today but a primitive ape species, which itself evolved in differnet directions - to humans and to monkeys. monkeys have many abilities that humans do not - strength, climbing ability, herbivority (this is a benefit only to less inteligent animals)
exactly, I never thought that the theory was..oooh big gorilla...thats where we came from... either way I am a firm beliver in evolution. I refuse to go on faith that some god like figure just poffed everything in exsistance. To me it makes alot of sense that something as complex as human beings did not just become what we are all at one time... ALthough I am curious about everyones theory on another thing... I have never found anything satisfactory about how everything originally came to this planet? Like what do you guys beklive as far as how the planets and shit got here? I mean if you belive big bang..well where did the shit that went kaboom come from lol? ? anyone else never satisfied with the theorys on this that they have heard
Well, it's kind of pointless to question how did everything that "went bang" get there...because then you question how what made it get there got there...then you question how that got there, then how that got there...it'd be neverending.
exactlly my point unless you buy christianity in which god always was (which is ok to belive because its faith) but what if you dont? what then? thats what i mean..who has any ideas on how the first of the first of the first got there?
