Okay conspiracy boy, show me the Patriot Act. Not a conspiracy about the Patriot Act, but the actual act. This is Agenda 21 all fucking over again.

 

Okay Yeal, let's say that both you and the "CTs" could be right. Actually both ideas are plausible although I have to say your statements: “government cares about us” and “The government has to govern the greater good” I find a bit laughable. Let’s just look at the results of such beliefs.

It seem that both beliefs cause you to spend a lot of time on the internet but apart from that, their beliefs cause them to be a bit more zealous to protect personal freedom and the rights of others whereas your beliefs tend to make you ready to throw down your freedoms and rights and the those of others the first time someone in “the government and/or whoever else is in charge or has any authority over the way our country is run” says it’s for the greater good.

Just looking at that I would have to say that, although I don’t agree with every thing they say I’d have to side with the “CTs”.

 

He just asked me to watch a video with Penn and Teller shooting down the alternative 9/11 conspiracy theory. First of all, I've already heard what they had to say about it. 2nd, I don't really feel that Penn and Teller are the ones informed citizens should look to for real political information/discourse. The very fact that you would have me listen to THEIR garbage (of all people) is indicative enough of where your mind is at. As I stated in a previous post, you need to find information outside of the corporate box.

Everybody...Yeal is what is known as a "lost cause"...at least for the time being. To try and redirect him is virtually impossible. He'll have to come to his own conclusions all by himself. Let him. I'm done trying. There are plenty of people who are equally unaware, but more openminded to facts and history. I think we should concentrate our efforts on people like that.

Last thing to Yeal: do your own homework. If you want to learn about the Patriot Act, it's only a google search away. It's only our job to point you in a certain direction. A horse can be led to water...which you have been, so now if you choose...drink. I assure you the water is clean. Buh-bye!

I gotta say, Penn and Teller are fucking hilarious, and make some good points, but on to the real subject...

Both conspiracies and the "our government cares about us" are in the same league, really, it just depends on your viewpoint. the Zorba type people see our government as the bad guy and even the possibility that they care about anyone but themselves is laughable and stupid. On the other hand, Yeal type people see the idea that 9/11 wasn't caused by terrorists laughable and completely absurd. You guys are really not that different at the core of it. Plus, all of this bitching is going to do fucking zilch, zip, nothing if any of the conspiracies do come true, so why don't we just stop arguing? Really, all that this will amount to if anything really does happen, which seems unlikely IMHO, is Zorba or Yeal getting to say "I told you so" and then dying like everyone else. These conspiracies are like feeling a cold sore coming on: you know it's going to happen, and no amount of complaining and talking about it is going to change the fact that tomorrow you will wake up with a nasty on your face.
