Not from what I've heard. Then again, maybe some people like waiting 6 months to have a brain tumor operated on.

Excuse me? Welfare? It's a normal thing here, people are used to it, they never had to pay fortune or hundreds of dollar for basic and notsobasic things.

Not sure if he's a troll or someone who doesn't know how to write a basic, understandable English sentence.

Nanny state gerbil. Gov does whatever it wants for the cost of baby bottles. It is hard for you to get I suppose, but that's your country. Ours is very different and here we prefer choices and at least trying to keep our criminals on their toes. We don't want the equivalent of a tyson chicken processing line for a country....neener neener ~

Heh heh, gerbil hon? I think if I were you I'd worry about my own life. Somebody else decides for you and some people don't think that's ever a good thing.

Yes, my life is completely decided by someone else, because we have free healthcare and we don't have to worry about the costs of getting sick, medicines, visiting a dentist or paying hospital bills.

What choice do we have here exactly? Pay thousands of dollars for insurance a year plus a myriad of out of pocket costs, or just pay out of pocket all together?

Most countries have their benefits, no point in comparing and arguing about it, just move to the one that suits you best. Mine works for me, the insurance isn't free but it's cheap enough and the pay is great if one wants good work so it's a good place to be, for me anyway.
For each to survive his/her country's ups or downs one just has to be smart and over come the bits they don't like. I have my basic medical and my extra medical which covers nearly everything including most meds and dental and it's not costing me an arm and a leg to have it.

Oh ok that's good its not abscessed. You can probably find some kind of sliding scale dentist to pull it for a decent price.

Meh. I'm already covered through my employer. It's also cheap which I'm very grateful for.

I found out the hard way what it's like to have a medical emergency without coverage backing me up a few years ago. Turned a 20 minute lancing of a rather large "situation" from my solid matter dispensary into a $1600 bill. Moved out of state and they found me, as they always do and now half of what I send in is just keeping the interest at bay. It wasn't my fault that I got a grape sized pain from stress on my asshole. I got it because of how stressed I was about money, imagine that. Not only that, it was humiliating as a procedure to begin with. Doctor was training a cute nurse who was my age and on the way out I heard him day "wow that was a big one". She laughed.

Luckily I worked it out to where I'll have it payed off by 2018 because that's what I can afford. Just so long as they stop sending me those fucking letters. Shit wears on you. Anyways the point is that now I'm covered and I'm very grateful for that.
