Don't want to be racist or anything, but I don't really have a problem with inner-city, uneducated people who talk, dress, and act in the way they do. That's just what they know. But when these white suburban kids in my school run around with these stupid baggy pants that are 3 times too big for them, it just pisses me off. Then they purposely talk with accents and use horrible grammar. It's actually pretty funny to listen to them talk sometimes.
If you want to get politically correct, I am African American, although I am mostly native American, I am also French and Ethiopian...I grew up in poor minority neighborhoods where these types of people are all the time, I could not stand these people at all. I find it funny that because of my darker skin, they automatically think that I should be like them, I've had people stop and ask me why I act/look/talk like a white person...
Hey Im 15 and i go to school with these kids and it pisses me off to no end. They live in huge houses and Have Ipods and yet they feel like they should wear there huge cloths and purposly talk wrong. WHY?!?!?! It makes them look stupid and when i ask the why i get called rasict but still there are some people who dont and i think the tolarance for this behavior is lowering so there is hope!
"Kids today don't want our hate they all want to be wiggers And thugs and rappers and players in short.. They all want to be niggers"
Wow, this is an old thread. I agree. But I will also add that American media is exporting and selling this culture to the third world and beyond. It is sad. But I have no idea what can be done.
Two generations have already gone through it and act like each other as far as pop culture goes. This thread should be bookmarked and returned to in 20 years when three generations will have been indoctrinated into the gangsta pop culture. There will be old age homes with folks dressed in baggy gansta pants and boom-boom chant tunes emanating from the complex. The kids and grandkids will be doing the same thing. Someone should do a comedy sketch of this scenario now before it becomes reality. Since I like the name Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, we can call it 'Baggy Baggy Boom Boom'. .
Honestly despite different overall values, suburban gangstas are no different than the hippies, i.e. a bunch of spoiled kids from middle class backrounds who feel the need to wear clothes and listen to music their parents hate who smoke a lot of weed.
As long as the means for delivering these messages to the mass market exists these problems will persist. I suspect it was the original so-called hippie culture that really taught marketers that playing to youth is a good way of making more money- whether that cash comes from them or their parents.... along the lines of Madcap's response. If it wasn't being glorified there would be nothing to buy into. Between the music genres, clothing industry, and news stories that make a point of pointing out race, the culture as a whole is being choreographed into focusing on the divisions as a distraction from more important things. It makes no difference whether this is by design or is just a happy coincidence. It's being sold to the third world within our own borders.
With the absence of a father figure in most inner-city households; is there any doubt why most young black men would embrace the gangster culture which at least offers the promise of wealth, cars, and plenty of hoes Hotwater
What about all the white kids living in suburban towns in 2,900sq. ft homes though? It's pretty funny though all the gangsta suburban kids from here who go partying in New Haven, they won't leave a few select streets cause they literally think you'll get robbed in the city because they were never allowed to leave the 15,000 population suburban town. Like shit son, you won't go into a neighborhood that is all Yale university buildings because your asinine stereotypes makes you petrified, you mad gangsta son.
the funny thing is that the 'gangsta suburban kids' just look like double tards cause that style is fuckin ooollld gang rap is really not around much anymore. even dope game rap has a different style
the rich kids do it because they're bored and have no responsibilities the poor kids do it because they're bored and have lots of responsibilities it seems that way to me at least
