i put up this thread because im sick and tired of walking down the street and having cars honk at me with their windows down and catching the lyrics blarring out the windows that are promoting to 'get your bitch' or WHATEVER THE HELL THEY ARE SAYING....

I am definitly not racist. I dont like classical music either, and that doesnt mean i hate old men.

Accept the fact that someone thinks to themself "i hate rap, it sucks." thats how i feel; this is hip forums; so thats what i said.

as for saying "rap is sweet" when you guys couldnt handel it, it just goes to show the ignorance and defense against something that is just music.

dont get me wrong, music IS my life. i respect 'rap' and 'hip hop,' but only because of its expression. however- youd be a fool to deny that probably 90% of rap these days is talking about how you can get laid and how much more weed you smoked than the next guy. thats not self expression- thats just immaturity.

and yes. I HATE RAP... IT SUCKS.

 

I`m not much rap person 2,but there r some really good rap bands in my country.
I dont think most people here even heard of them,but like Dope reach squad.

one thing that has me confused, why if there is a general music forum do bitchassmuthafu£@ers come into our hip hop & rap to tell people who like hiphop that they hate it huh. you don't see it in any other genre thread, these people are either bored have underlying problems or are just looking for drama.

i don't like most rock heavy metal or any of the other stuff that sounds like it but does that mean the whole genre is crap no! it just means that i haven't found the artist i like.

and you lot have the time to get into a full blown argument with these skitz

I don't even listen to any rap today, but Public Enemy and Snoop Dogg do give me much joy. Dietcoketree, it might be commercialized, but 90% of the music isn't about 2 things. I mean you can add cars and money to that list, but rap definately has moved from social and political music to more like entertainment music for the masses.

And it's not the rappers faults most of the time, because with what they are being paid, who would not take that job. They make what music that their companies or managers or the public wants, rather than what they want to express sometimes.

I hate rap, but not in same sense as you guys are saying. i love what people call "Rap" music, but i hate the name. i hate genres in general. i wish music could just be music and whether it is good or bad doesnt depend on what label is given to it.

Rap started out as a form of expression. It was ruined the moment it was put on a record and sold. It used to be art. Now it's shit. "Bitch and ho" talk isn't my idea of fun, so I don't listen to it...
Though I can stand Gorillaz and the rap they put on their albums... That might just be because I really like Gorillaz, though.
Whatever. If you like it, listen to it, but keep it the hell away from me. It's just liable to piss me off if I happen to listen to the "lyrics."
