You're better off doing something else. As soon as a stranger enters my personal space for a less than a genuine reason in real life, I run. Whether it be for selling raffle tickets or for charity, as soon as I see somebody in a badge holding a folder saying "Hi, how are you", I just walk on looking nervous without saying anything. People react really indignantly when I do it as well, I've been yelled at by a few angry charity peddlers. I already sponsor a child. It is my right to not want to be bothered in public, unless it is for a very good reason. What I'm saying is that I feel threatened by people with your old job.
Yeah, people heard about the good work I do from various people I've cleaned for over the years. Nobody wants to pay me worth a damn though. Haha man I clean in old ratty t-shirts and yoga pants. There are no jobs here. People are giving what little jobs open up to family and friends because everything keeps getting shut down. At least my dad is getting one extra day every other week now. They had cut him down to only working three days a week so they wouldn't have to lay anyone off.
i've never been fired. though, i did once have a telemarketing job and had a discussion with one of the managers about how my sales were too low and if i didn't improve it would have to come to that eventually. on the spot i told him i'd save us all the headaches and just go ahead and leave, and it was on good terms cause he liked me. said if i ever need a job again come back to them. i did such a lousy job, i think, because i thought it was wrong. we were fund raising for the FOP foundation (a cause i do not support anyway) and were instructed to do everything short of lying to indicate that we were in fact police officers. it was a shitty job, and the shittier the employee the better they seemed to do with it. the combination of not believing in what my company stood for and being encouraged to do things i thought of as unethical led to a really low performance. but perhaps i'm also just not cut out for telemarketing. whatever. short story, i've never been fired though i came close lol
So did the people I was to track down. I went to stop one lady, she said she didn't want to buy anything, I told her it was a charity, she said "leave me the fuck alone", I replied "Okay, have a nice day today" and she told a cop on me. :toetap05: They knew I didn't harrass her, it was outside of a library and seen the tape... they just told me to make sure I stayed on the sidewalk. This one kid from Dublin was good at his job, but I think it was the whole Irish accent thing, cougars love that shit, ya know?
Yeah, Irish people have an undeniable charm. I like the fact that you said "have a nice day". I certainly respect the guts people have to have to do that job. I'm still not going to acknowledge them though. I'm working as a 'merchandiser' right now. I go around to different shops to re-stock my company's merchandise and set up special displays etc. Its really easy and fun, it pays well and I don't have to deal with customers at all! Its the best job I've ever had. Ever considered doing something like that?
Yea, little Irish bastards, he was a funny kid though, all the people there were really fun kick ass people... and we had fun. haha, I used to do that to customers who would cuss me out all the time at my old job, they get so mad because they are mean people, she didn't have to cuss at me, ya know? Kill em' with kindness. I wanted to call her a dumb ****, but I didn't want to get fired. It is a scary job though, one kid got punched in the eye, another kid got pushed, yesterday a guy kinda push passed me, but I moved in time and he told me to get the fuck out of his way. I took the job to get more experience in dealing with people without being nervous, I definately stepped out of my boundries, it was a good feeling. I haven't seen stuff like that here, so far, mostly soliciting jobs, Seattle is too busy to notice shit unless you pull 'em aside and shit... I prefer phone sales and customer care, but out here, because of the time zone it's scarce. People like me, if I can land an interview with someone, more then likely I got the job.
"Fuck you very much" is a great line as well. I've used it dozens of times and nobody is yet to pick up on it. Most of the time I do get a surprised look that seems to say "did he just say what I think he did?"....I love fucking with rude peoples' heads.
i want face eaters job! that sounds like a pretty easy one, kind of on your own doing your work and don't have to deal with the customers. that would be nice. enraged angel-- i could never do your job, or any telemarketing job. i think that would be one of the hardest jobs. the last, and only, time i got fired was probably 11 years ago. it was for missing too much work. i've quit a lot of jobs since then though. i almost got fired a couple of weeks ago because apparently i was rude to a customer, although i don't remember being directly rude to anyone. i'm trying real hard to be nice lately cause like most places there just arent any jobs around here. i hate my job, but i need it desperately.
