Well. i totally agree with you headymoe. i was reffering to bein born a heroin addict/damaged, or being vulnerable in childhood. people know imitating behaviour is what gets them love. i'm saying that she should give up on wanting their love/parenting. by learning drug addicts aren't real people in a way..they're addcits.

 

still, she hasn't returned to give us any more details and based on what she said we don't know if they were just having some fun or if there is a real problem. I think it's uinfair to sit and call her parents addicts and that they are bad parents because she found out they do coke. I want to know more details so I could really give a true opinion. I can't without knowing if there is a problem or not.

 

My opinion is drug addicts are drug addicts. ! lol. if she's a huge stoner, she is one too! all she can do is not be a hypocrite. i wonder if she's living with them.

 

coke is very addictive (been there) so dont be mad at them or efel like they are different people- but really i understand why it made you mad and i cant tell you its not a big deal and not to worry but it is more harmless then people think and everyones going to die anyway so live it up man

 

oh man, im in the same boat. i am a huge stoner, as is my mother. i have never known her to be irresponsible with drugs up until when she started doing coke. my brothers do it too, and it makes me sick. i know its tough. the most you can do at this point is talk to them about it. although im not going to lie, that probably wont do much. just hang in there, i know its hard watching people you love do stuff like this. they dont realize their own hypocrisy, and that alone is reason enough to be worried. i really hope everything turns out good for you. if you need to talk pm me.

 

I'm sorry you're in that position. It is an awful thing to watch when it's used irresponsibly.

 

OK here are my two to three cents. I think you should just tell them what you are thinking i mean really why do people always ask this kinda question? The only thing you ever need to tell anyone is the truth.

Secound I think I always give the same line "If you let anything come before your family you got a real problem." So obviously the coke is upsetting their family they should put it down or prove to their daughter that they don't have a problem"

I don't like coke....tried it once, and all it did was make my teeth feel hollow, and leave a nasty drip in the back of my throat.

But, I gotta say coke isn't "bad." Take alcohol for example.....if you know someone with a serious drinking problem, does that make alcohol a bad thing? Or, does that make every other human being out there who drinks responsibly an alcoholic, just because a few people can't handle themselves on it?

It's the same with any other drug out there, whether its pot, cocaine, or even opiates. It's all a matter of personal responsiblity. As long as her parents aren't stung out, or letting the power get turned off because they blow all their money on coke, I don't think there's a real problem.....other than the trust issue.

L_P_F, don't try to guilt trip your parents. that's just wrong, and you wouldn't want them to treat you like that if the tables were turned. If you have a good relationship with your parents, I don't see any reason not to be open and honest with them about your concerns. They'll listen, I'm sure. When you start getting sneaky and suspicious relationships tend to fall apart, and I'm sure you don't want that to happen.

 

well.....think about childhood...every single child knows that drugs are stupid...not just becuase they've been told...but becuase they recognise things more clearly than adults who always make justifications for theri behaviour. remeber being a kid and seeing old people, deformed people, and smokers....you remember feeling disgusted and vowing then, at age 4, or 8 or whatever..i'll never 'go down that road' drugs are a road............they lead to unpleasant things...attitudes etc... i mean why is it considered a 'good time' to lace your brain with foreign bodies and watch the mayhem unfold?
DRUGS ARE NOT ABOUT HAVING A GOOD TIME...THEY'RE AN ESCAPE MECHANISM ONLY.
that's however your freindship with them goes. it is dabbling with danger, that first high...leads to more and more justifications for going against your own standards as you realise you are actually quite hooked on the stuff. and oh! shit yes it isn't some lovely man from psychedelia passing on dwon his recipie for lovely times, to share with all the world...and hey. actually, i might just be another paying customer for some empire that goes way beyond my befuddled head...thinking i am acting as a free person..even a spiritual one..reaching new hieghts and depths of experience...really, one more paying mass to feed all sorts of crimes and fat cats up there in the money hungry buisness. It's a big profit too.
