Trying to vent off here my frustations and and extreme dificult time im having im suprise if i can write at all ,much less make any sense. "picture a steam boiler about to explode" well give you a light idea .

Even though it's a little shorter than the M4, it still has a good barrel leangth from breach to tip, and the silencer dose cive it that little bit more, although I do have a soft spot for the Galil, I just don't find it as versatile, but even with a shorter barrel,I'm still hitting targets that other people hit with the M16 or G3 or even the acuracy international 338, but I do have competition if I'm up against, something like an SG1 or even a PSG1, I'm getting head shots 18 out of 20 at 8000 yards on man shaped meatal targgets, having said that, any M16 derivative is a combat weapon, my ultimate long range target rifle would have to be the custom Remington 700, I also aquiered a Glock 18C (don't ask), and I don't mean to cause an argument, but are you sure about 3,200 fps? IM ok with the Rem 700. glock is ok "much prefer a sig due to quality" M-16 OR ANY derivatives is far from a Combat weapon . Dont mix Target rifles with true combat weapons . Galil or any AK = Combat weapon. back to the 16 they either need a new complete new gun or replace that stupid ass gas system with a piston and rod set up then i might think twice about the M-16 or any close cousins.
That's what I'm saying, the M16, M4s ect, are a versatile weapon, and can be made truly combat effective, there are so many add ons and up grades to be had, but I have to say, (and not thru personal experience) the HK SD6 is a good CQB weaopon, you didn't say if you was familier with the M733.
Even with the piston and rod set up the bolt on the 16 is encase in a almost tubular upper reciver with clearance far to tight to be trusted in sand unless you want spend most of the day cleaning the sucker. be honest i rather see a well design brand new and completely difrent design weapon built by using well establish design "a little from here a little from over there" HK, AK , FN FAL etc etc thats what they did with the Galil . if you look at a Galil the first few minutes you would say "oh just a fancy AK" BETTER LOOK CLOSER. The Galil well never be pick simply becouse is not a cheap rifle to built specially if they stay with the solid mill reciver "they could use stamp or even a strong aluminum" . even Isreal cant afford to arm all of her soldiers with Galil "mainly becouse the U.S sends them 16 at a much lower price " or FREE.
