I was just in New Orleans a couple days ago... It's amazing how that place gets constantly shit on. I feel kinda hopeless. I want to do something about it, but I don't have a clue what to do.
I think we are agreeing Tom. lol I was referring to the fishers, and the people that work at the marinas, and then the places that they spend their paycheques (restaurants, etc). An entire area wiped out. Europa? Are furry people welcome?
Well, sadly, if we were agreeing... we were both wrong... They now have fisherman and their families out in support of removing the moratorium... I watched a third generation fisherman (at least allegedly) say that the moratorium is just like kicking them while they are down, seems they are losing the fishing industry already and this is killing the only other industry there... oil. The part that really gets me is the whole idea of drilling in such a place that we can't or at least, don't yet know how to fix problems when they happen. I understand that the oil companies lied about their capabilities to clean accidents up, in fact, I pretty much expect every large corporation to act in that manner. What I don't get, is why their lies were just accepted. Well, beyond bribery and back room deals of course. Until they can show (as in demonstrate) that they have a method to stop this from happening again, the moratorium on deep sea drilling should remain in effect, regardless of how many fisherman support it... As for the idea of escaping to another planet... the first ones to get to a new planet, will be the corporations. Chances are, by the time we (average people) ever get to go to a new planet, beyond as a work force, the new planet will already be in worse shape then here...
i would probably switch them back and forth, like I do the words, but cant save road acorn to gallery..
Oh the well exploded ," the man cried .. tossed to the sea 11 men died... Then the rig started sinking the oils getting away.. all they got to report, Big Oil Spill today" .. It was hundreds of thousands of gallons galore.. Stretching 100 of miles down the Louisiana shore.. The pelicans in the marshes out looking for food.. They got stuck there like Jed Clampett in bubbling... crude.. the well spuming out the gallons of the black gold.. were going to plug it up, so we were told.. It been a month worth of bullshit over the air waves.. least the new anchor paychecks will be saved.. It was million gallons this time... Consider the danger and think of the crime.. As it poured out a slick stretching into the tide.. Over hundred-miles and yes, ITs that Wide!! There's talk of writing some big check for the fisherman.. Bp is helping they are doing what they can.. They want a interview but they seem kinda shy.. Maybe talk to matt lauer he seem like a nice guy..

i haven't read the whole thread but fyi in case it hasn't been mentioned, there is a lot of methane down there and there is a huge bubble forming.. sea floor rising.. etc.. not looking good. the potential of how it may unfold is creepy. think tsunami
Maybe we will finally give up the quest for oil...sad we have to learn so many lessons the hard way as a species.
