i UNDERSTAND that his intention was PROBABLY satyrical. but so was dante's, and look what that got us.

too many people, alerted by satyre that 'something' isn't quite right, haven't quite the scope to conseder the possibilites of what might be slightly more so instead.

hense my sense of need to point out, that whenever some belief or idiology or anything else tells you to consider itself beyond question, as did the little dog toto in hollywoods version of the wizard of ozz, the little man behind the curtain ...

this is my understanding as well

(all though i would drop the "the" because we don't really know that truth is a 'the', though of course it could. we do know that of what we can observe of truth, diversity is its nature)

I think the original post is rather funny. I don't really understand the cleaves between religions. I believe that all religions are the same, as all Gods are the same. Even if you don't call it "god," I still think that the point is the same. Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, all religions, God is the same. Do you really believe that your God only made those people that believe in that God? What makes one group of human beings significantly different from another such that their Gods and religions are different?

Differences bring us together... when we realize how much more great are our similarities.

i know or have heard of that those other 106 gospels exist or existed, but i have never come accross them and have always wanted to satisfy my curiousity about them. i did come accross a book once that quoted in full three of the 'apocrapha'. but that was as much as i was awaire of.

this is however a relatively minor matter comparied to the chauvanism of putting flavours of belief ahead of the avoidance of causing harm. i really think people worry too much about what to believe and too little about how their priorities that they actualy live by, influence the levels of harm and suffering in the world they share with each other and all the rest of us.

chauvanistic beliefs like christianity and islam are far and away the major perpitrators of this sort of enequity. orders of magnatude more so then other beliefs.

this is really unfortunate because i don't believe that was their origeonal intent either.
