i am so horrible!

Well if you know anything about the occult it can be scary. A person I knew named Ed got involved in the occult and it was ok until one day he discover there were demons involved with the occult. They would appear to him as little children and spend long hours tormenting him to the point where he wanted to kill himself. None of his occult buddies, or the doctors that pumped him up with drugs could helped him. Yet there were Christians who commanded the demons to leave Him in the name of Jesus Christ, and those demons did. The occult can be fun for a while, yet it gets you involved in areas you should not be. And when you get involved deep enought, the demons turn the tables on you.
And there are many people still locked up in institutions today who never get out. And thats when it gets, Very Scary

 

And there are no christians in mental institutions?

Ever consider that cults just attract insane or mentally ill people?

Mrs Morrison, i am glad you have decided to be Christian for good. Its insecure trendmongering teenagers like you that have given us a horrible image.

I honestly hope you find what makes your spirit happy, because i have
watched you ping pong back and forth for a almost a year, and I am hoping
you find something to grow in.

Just be a little more secure in your faith before you go about proclaiming
what you are, because otherwise you loose credibility and open people up
to say what I said above.

For the record, most "occult" things you are all talking about are based
in your biblical origins. Enochian magick is a Christian discovered system
of working with "angels", of which i do not trust.

I think the Enochian system is dangerous and invites the wrong beings
into your life. Are the of satan, no that would be silly, but they are
damaging.

the "occult" as you know it, and paganism in general arent the same.

Granted, Wicca draws largely from Enochian ritual, with a mix
of Kabbalah and hinduism, with some Celtic deity names for trend sake,
it isnt representational of paganism as a whole.

 

I surely hope everyone here realizes "the occult" (whatever that means) or cults in general, and paganism are not the same...doesn't seem that way though...

I am also reminded of being taught in my baptist school that paganism was the same as satanism which was the occult, so I'm know plenty still have that impression.

I am sure there are Christians who are in mental institutions, because of mental problems, just as I am sure there are people in institutions who are there because of mental problems that are sometimes caused by demonic activity. Sometimes this activity can be seen in people who have supernatural strength, or speak in other languages they have never spoken, or even on rare cases, where people will levitate.

If it is a true cult that operates out of the will of men, it may attract the mentally ill. Yet if you have a group that operates out of the will of God, the person that attends, may be released from their mental condition. Especially if his or her condition was spiritual in nature.

 

Just an old Christian who still believes.

 

its not that occult practices are "evil" or of satan. there are "demons" that are involved with and try to block every path of ascension. the problem with the occult is that many practitioners (mostly youth) dont recognize this spiritual fact and dont know how to operate and protect their own mind/body/spirit complex. a pure heart is a pure heart whether it belongs to a christion, a pagan, or any other.

i do think occult practitioners make easier targets for darker energies to feed on though.

 

You do make a point there, he could for instance start making you fall into idol worship without even knowing it, suddently claiming that God has a family and begets children. He may even stretch the scenario into making it even more twisted by claiming that God can die (which contradicts the OT) and that he has to die to save us though this contradicts the message of the prophets. And finally he says something extremely horrible and blashphemious, the (often pagan) belief that God is reincarnated in humans!

The Bible states there are two paths that can be followed, one path leads to Christ. The other path can lead to many other paths, yet all those paths will surley lead you to Hell. Because the Devil has a lie for everyone. For some it may be automatic writing, for others, astrology, and others it might be UFO's and the space brothers. Yet one thing is for sure, all the other paths will lead you away from the blood of Christ. Jesus stated, ''that no man comes unto the Father but by Me.'' Everyone that I know who followed the occult, was far worse off because of it. And at least three of them ended up in institutions, and one of them had to be treated with drugs to try to erase the Demonic images that kept appearing to him. The Devil could care less about a pure heart, yet he fears the name of Christ. This I have seen first hand.

 

Yet, you forget God exist as three persons. And that is why in the first Book of the Old Testament God states ''let US make man in OUR image.'' God was speaking to the other members of the Godhead. For there was no one else around.
And God sent His Son to die on the cross for the sins of the world. And God did not die because you can not kill God, but Gods human and biological body did. And the Bible states that a man would die for the sins of the world, and this was predicted by the prophets of God. So there is no counterdiction.

What Bible do you read? Jesus, the image of God, died and rose again. He was the new covenant for all people. God reincarnated in a human blasphemous? The first messianic prophecy states that the messiah would come not from the heavens not in some magical way but from a woman. God did not think that it was blasphemious but people did and that is why they killed Him. However, God showed His amazing power by conquering death.

He was pierced for our trangressions (Isaiah 53).
