I am so confused please lead me in a direction

    Here's one of the things that I do from time to time either during meditation or at night before I go to sleep to stimulate the chakras: First I visualize a good, thick gold grounding cord running from the base of my spine down to the very core of the earth. I'll usually visualize using my hands stroking it to make it nice and thick and strong. Then I'll visualize orange, healing energy coming up the ground cord and into the base/root chakra which I picture to be a ball of light. The orange energy/light fills the chakra spinning around inside of it and taking all the bad/negative/dirty stuff out of it down the ground cord, so all that is left is pure, clean orange light/energy. I'll let it swirl for a minute or so and then move up to the next chakra. I continue in this way until all 7 chakras are buzzing with energy. Once I get to the top, I visualize the energy bursting out of the top of my head and looping around to go back down through all the chakras to the ground. I'll let the orange run for awhile, then change the color to light brown for earth energy, and then finally light green energy for opening up to my divine self. When I am done, I'll visualize the chakras closing down to about the size of a tennis ball from the saucer size that I visualize them being when running energy through them.

    Part of the reason that we want to quiet the mind besides finding our true self is so that we can focus on just one thing or what we tell the mind to focus on instead of running on endlessly on its own, jumping from one thing to another. There are sounds associated with each chakra that you can intone as you focus attention on each chakra to help stimulate them. They can be found in various places on the web. I set a timer when it is convenient to do so to remind me to stop every half hour and intone the sounds quietly while I focus on the chakras. After only a little while of doing this you can start to feel the sound resonate at the chakra you are trying to stimulate. I've gotten to the point after just a couple of months where I can feel my third eye chakra almost all the time. I also use crystals and stones of the correct type/color at the chakras during lying down meditation sometimes. I have a Herkimer diamond that I use on my third eye that is very stimulating. As Stalk has indicated, just focusing attention on the chakras will help the process along.

    Meditation for me helped with focus, then clarity which led to life purpose and meaning. I put everything that I am today down to meditation.

    At a certain point, you can direct your energies and your breathing towards the chakra you're looking to improve, without thinking.

    I envision energy and I mentally focus on the Brow Chakra, when I want to improve my intuition and fine tune the other benefits of developing the Third Eye, for example.
