Wake does not need to be changed to the past tense because 'wake-n-bake' is being changed as a whole, a single verb. Lets let u equal 'wake-n-bake' Changing to the past tense would be u'd This morning I u'd before going to school. Substitute back: This morning I 'wake-n-bake'd before going to school. You are not saying that you woke first and then baked, which is two actions, you are saying you wake-n-bake'd, which is a single action.
