Yeah, going into more debt is really horrible advice lol The idea is to get out of debt so that, while you may have a few lean years, by the time you really start to meet your career goals you'll be debt free and able to get ahead I haven't bought anything on credit since I was 20 years old. Now I'm almost 30 and although my 20s was a really lean decade, I'm in a position to get ahead in the next decade because I'm not in debt Of course, I also have basically no credit except for a cell phone bill and a great rental history if that is even reported to the credit bureaus, and a credit card bill i didnt start paying on until a few years ago...so ill probably have a hard time getting credit for a mortgage or anything else. But fuck it, I refuse to buy into the system of debt and credit in which many enslave themselves. I'm pretty reluctant to ever buy a house for that reason
I would love nothing more than to get a consolidation loan for all of my debt so I could do one payment rather than like 4, but #1) I do not trust the people that offer them not to screw me and #2) like I have said before, my payments are already so low, I don't know what can beat them, and I think in the end, I would just end up paying so much more that way for so much longer that it's like no, I'm not giving it any more of my time than I have to.
When I was 14, I worked at a vet clinic, where I was able to shadow a vet. One of the first things they had me watch was a c-section on a St. Bernard. The dog was huge, it's abdomen was laid open, blood was pouring down the side of the table and the intestines were flopped out on the counter. The vet was pulling out puppies and handing them to the techs who were tipping them upside down to try and get them to expel the fluid from their lungs. It was kind of traumatizing. Also, the idea of getting the shit kicked out of me by one of those larger dogs or a particularly evil street cat doesn't very much appeal to me. I will leave that to people that don't have quite the anxiety issues that I have. They can smell that stuff on you... No, I prefer to help from afar and take them to the vet when something needs to be dealt with. I know my limits, but I do what I can. That's one of the reasons I am in the job I am in. I provide technical support for veterinary blood analyzers. I hope to soon start moving up in the company as a lab tech.
