the category of a hurricane is for wind, not water..

  2. Animals are fine Moonglow. 100 steps ahead of humanity. People don't see how funny they are; people think they are too special. But the joke is on them. Don't know how long it should play out, though. Cows are driving people bonkers. I know that.

I've always liked the name Harvey. It reminds me of the film where the man is a rabbit. But I don't like that people suggest that everyone who is an animal is just some dude pretending to be a rabbit. That's preposterous.

Hurricane Harvey has something to do with the guy who stands in the lobby of the People's Court and condemns everyone but I haven't quite made the connection yet. I suppose time will tell.

I know, that, neon. It is what humans do to them that isn't fine.

One reason why i will never go to Texas. i don't want to see countless herds of cattle being bred for slaughter.

Most humans have the choice of what they will do....but many animals are at our mercy, just like children and babies, so i have no sympathy for most people.'

When I was in Texas, I discovered what Fire Ants were the hard way....

They say that fire ant colonies have the ability to float in clusters on the flood water's surface. That's what you ought to be worried about.

The animals in the shelters are what get to me in all of this. I'm a member of several animal groups on fb...and it isn't hard to trace back a post to see where it came from and if it is legitimate. That being said, in a couple of the counties that were expected to be hit hard by Harvey, the police were MAKING the shelter employees leave and wouldn't let them transport the animals out even though transportation had been arranged and everything. It was said that the employees wanted to just stay there - actually it said they begged to be allowed to stay (at both shelters) and they were being made to leave by the deputies or chiefs...why doesn't that surprise me.

I saw a picture of 2 police and 2 shelter employees..the police were literally laughing and one was waving. One of the shelter employees was crying and you could tell the other was trying with everything in her to talk and change their soulless minds.

I don't think I even want to know how it ended...there was no chatter today about the situation.

I wish there was a morality or conscience test that had to be passed in order for someone to get a job in law enforcement...but then we wouldn't have many. smh

yeah - I had to go outside and think and pray some about that last night. It is super hard for me to wrap my mind around that kind of sadistic behavior, much less the fact the "bad guys" in this are authority figures/law enforcement.

Those law enforcement people didn't simply "not care"...they were amused by all of it.

It is in this kind of instance, I truly hope Karma has her way with them. I'm not a good enough person to hope they merely "change their ways".

I just don't understand how they can force someone to leave when a mandatory evacuation was never declared

But other than that I can see rolling's point. The cops shouldnt be laughing at the situation obviously but sociopathic attitude aside, they're just following someone else's orders. I just dont ubderstand why those orders were issued or how they can be enforced with no mandatory evacuation in place.

id need to see evidence of it before offering a judgement

i cant just condemn people from an internet post by someone who says they heard someone else saw a picture of something happening

i know people who are so sad at funerals they laugh...you have to be there to understand the situation and you have to know the people to understand why they do the things they do

That was what had me completely baffled...there was no overall evacuation.

I do agree human beings before animals (I guess...) but why should the law care if anybody remained at the shelter or not? These were/are adults and shelter employees. If that was their choice, what difference should it make to laughing jackals if they wanted to remain with the animals. The reason the law said they wouldn't even allow the animals to be transported out was because there was no evacuation order and people should stay off the roads.

Again, if someone CHOSE to leave, was the law going to make them turn back? I ask that, and yet I know it was reported that the transport that the shelter had secured was turned back.

It seems if more people had been "allowed" to leave when they first learned of Harvey coming, would it really have been so much worse than it is now?
