You have to apply for amnesty. It is usually granted to particular countries under strife. You don't just show up at the border crossing.

Who did the natives steal it from?

Which to reiterate, they were legal immigrants.

You know some people do everything right and struggle for years to gain citizenship and spend tens of thousands of dollars and still arent citizens

Whereas my great great grandfather just had to catch a boat and land here. Done and done.

The path to citizenship isnt particularly easy. And it isnt easy because legal immigrants who become citizens are entitled to the same rights as naturalized Americans. Such as being paid at least the minimum wage

Why do you think illegal immigrants come here? Whose interests do you think is best served by making sure the path to citizenship is so difficult that it results in millions of immigrants coming illegally to work under the table jobs?

Some people do their honest best to get a job honestly while others turn to selling drugs. Done and done.
So you want illegals to be underpaid?

I honestly have no idea what your response has to do with what I wrote

And I have no idea how you got this from what I wrote

And I'll likely lose my temper if I have to break this down in even simpler terms just to help you understand what I said. so, nevermind.

I don't want them paid at all, I'd prefer that they weren't here. Immigrate legally. Or don't.

I wish people like you would get what you want.

You'll be paying eight bucks for an apple picked by a unionized labor force demanding $20 an hour and three weeks of paid vacation each year.

The elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about is that illegal immigrants play a role in our economy. Everything has consequences. Even rounding up human beings and tossing them out like garbage.

Let them in to exploit them and their limited skills? And then let them vote and give them the rights of the legal citizens? Wonder how that'll work out. And aren't there laws to protect people from being exploited by employers trying to do exactly what you're saying is an important part of the economy? A lot of food for thought here.
I won't even start on who's for and who's against big unions.

No, because they don't have the same rights as legal citizens. They're not protected and they are exploited, and they have huge smiles on their faces because--hey--at least it ain't Mexico. I don't know why people think illegal immigrants are here living like royalty. I've known a couple of farmers who employed illegal immigrants. Seven of them would live in one trailer and they were paid $100 a week in cash. That's it.

    Not really.
    It's okay. We all know.

    Whats not to understand?

Steal someone elses child because you think border officials are far more likely to be sympathetic

They would actually have to be legal citizens to vote but thats beside the point

Preguntas, what are you doing about it? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you arent benefitting from the low prices offered by companies that employ illegal labor. So where do you shop, what companies do you boycott to ensure you're not supporting a corrupt system?

And what do you think the punishment should be for businesses that hire illegal immigrants?

And yet illegal immigration wouldn't be a problem if there wasnt a job market for them. So clearly a lot of businesses are getting away with it. What do you think we should change to prevent businesses from creating a demand for cheap labor?

I may or may not. I trust others will act like me and not hire people who can't document who they are. I don't believe they affect our economy to the extent of the apple example. I do hate competing with other companies who use cheap labor, but my customers, so far, realize that quality costs a bit more.

Isnt that though just exactly the kind of thing he said, just in another way

You want them in your country so you dont have to pay $20 for an apple
