"Today wall construction began, or more realistically: continued, along the US and Mexico border, (although several lawsuits seek to halt construction) as anger continues to grow in the wake of pictures of migrants in El Paso sleeping outside in what is being called “the Kennel,” going viral. In the last several months, Trump has pushed for new powers, namely the ability to intern migrants indefinitely, as well as cutting off of aid to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

(...)despite the fact that border crossings are at a record low, the amount of people being incarcerated in detention centers is at an all time high; upwards of 50,000, over 10,000 the amount that even Congress has authorized, and with ICE of course pushing for more.

Meanwhile, over the last week, the DHS has pushed for increased powers, more money, the construction of more facilities, and also the rolling back of rules against child separation. The DHS claims that the immigration system is currently in a crisis due the amount of Central American refugees entering into the the US and facing deportation. The ramping up of repression is coupled with continuous reports of skyrocketing amounts of molestation, abuse, deaths, and the spreading of disease.

But while the media has focused mainly on the Mueller investigation and its fallout, at the same time resistance to mass detention has been growing on the streets once again."

I’m an anchor baby born and raised 15 minutes from the Mexican border around the rio grande valley. Both my parents came from Mexico both over 25 years ago. For me it’s a very personal discussion, but personally I try to talk from a place of truth and not so much emotion.
Now you saying that working these jobs are a result of “mistakes is ignorant and seem like trying to ascertain that some jobs are less valuable than others and I disagree my dad cuts laws for a living he loves it and has a better income than most people because he invested his all in the American dream that if you work hard enough you can achieve great things for you and your children. The problem is that it isn’t 25 years ago times are different most people that came during those times simply wanted better opportunity specifically for their kids, but now a lot more come because the know they will qualify for all the handouts we give out. I studied in vocational school to work in the refineries and I can tell you that i still worry about a undocumented person taking my job the fact is that I’ve seen it!I have met more and more undocumented workers (some that have criminal records that would have made me unable to work in my craft) take the jobs of others including myself once to a guy I knew Lost his citizenship for aggravated drug charges but simply bought social security and birth certificates. Although I simply looked for more work because like you said there is enough for everyone to take a bite.

Now I can assure you too that rape, human trafficking, drug trafficking, murder, and all sorts of violence is 100% real and happens on a DAILY basis. I’ve cried hearing my aunt story of being chased thru the border by her coyotes that had undressed and tied her her to rape and abuse her(she was older with one kid that thank god was sent thru another way), but god undid her binds and she ran infront of a border patrol car for protection then they sent back to and she did it again since her kid was already over here. These stories are real and Most of these stories will only be heard by the people the victims tell most afraid of speaking out for reasons from deportation to fear of their attackers hurting their family in Mexico. The answer to why they traffic humans... *drumroll*.....MONEY..
Surprising I know!! The price to simply cross someone is 1-8 thousand. The price of human trafficking is 1-8 thousand plus another 10 to 100 thousand more because yes people are willing to pay that much and more for the lives of their loved ones. The Most I personally saw was a co-workes dad got kidnapped crossing and they asked for a ransom of 75 thousand witch they sold their trucks, gold and drained savings to pay them including close to 3 grand we raised for his family. They discovered his dead body 4 days after they paid.... Didn’t you hear about that? Surely you saw all the coverage for them!!! I tought not ! Why because his you get brother and mom would be next if he ever went and told everyone who and what happened. Now to why they still killed him is beyond me. My point is that the border has given a platform to this kind of evil right unde our nose.

You know what I say Build the dam wall so that bigger and more important things can be done. Immigration reform won’t work if we can’t see who is coming in and out of country. We need to stop arguing with emotion so we can have real conversations of our countries and the worlds future. Have compasión but don’t let the emotion dictate the outcome. I don’t praise Trump, but I Have a positive opinions on certain things he is doing or done. People will tell me things like “Trump is a Evil white conservative that has a master agenda to control and bend the knee of every other race, and i can’t believe you support anything he does especially since you are Mexican” like come on people! I would Reply like this... First of all I’m just as American has my undocumented cousin that’s been here since 3 years old (dreamer) and now an adult actually he seems more American than me sometimes (a running joke between us) and we both want best decision for AMERICA the country we live in. The Racist card keeps getting pulled out every dam day it’s s like soccer referees using their red card to have final decision on something they only see from a certain angel. This is why I get backlash amongst some of my peers most using the same emotional arguments each time and I truly and I mean Truly understand and get what they saying and coming from. What frustrate me is when even if I do show them facts they will be like it don’t matter trumps is blah blah blah..... let’s Build the wall and move on so my undocumented cousins and aunts, uncles and friends that have been here since little kids or over 15 plus years can get documented already and be able to see the rest of our beautiful country. I dont Believe tho that someone who got here yesterday or last year and has literally done nothing but abuse our food stamps, and Medicare then not work or pay taxes because they know they will get more money from our government if they just simply open up their hands and done and will no do anything productive should get the same rights has those who are productive and have been here their entire life basically. I see How someone would be why if those new kids don’t have a either choice and it shouldn’t matter how long someone is here and this and that (again I get Where they are coming from). Why? Because it’s a different time and we have evolved and grown so much since those days so our regulations and laws should change accordingly.

Ps. I apologize if I came of offensive or anything like that. I get that you might agree and disagree with me on different points.

If you are here illegally you can not "abuse" tax paid systems like medicare.

If a wall is built do you really think your cousins will stay? The whole point is for them not to. Even people like yourself who are legal are deported now since your parents were not.

    For example this guy

Marine vet with PTSD held by ICE for 3 days before agency realized he was citizen

You really need to be careful as a Mexican. Once a wall comes it's the next thing. You are not white and therefore an issue. But I've noticed a strong right wing view is more common among your people than Fox likes to admit. Just keep in mind that no matter what you do you are trash to many of your peers. You should not be here in the first place so no matter what you need to leave now.

I do agree with you on some things. I just have to point that out.

Also my comments on Mexicans doing low paid labor has nothing to do with them or their intelligence and worth. It has to do with that glass ceiling and hate they face when they come here. Like even a scientist who speaks Spanish is still bad to Fox news since he speaks Spanish. So that person has to work the fields.

Maybe they shouldn’t come here then. And I couldn’t care less what their ethnic background is. Come legally or don’t come at all. It’s so simple. Which is why it will come to be under our current leadership.

Says the white guy, ahahaha. Now that's ironic.

But yes, those who are "legal" get deported, and murdered, all the time. You do know the wall is about an idea and not actual reality, right? This is the calmest the border has been in many many years.

Racist statement. I don’t care if they look like Beto or Warren I still don’t want them breaking our immigration laws.

Because you dont seem to realize or are willfully ignoring the fact that the flow of immigrants from central america are seeking asylum, which is legal under american and international law

  15. This sounds a bit like when the aboriginals here in australia had their kids taken from them to learn all about australia and the white australian policy which is racist.

Also i think Trump is a dickhead for allowing this to happen to people who are on the mexican/Amecian borders. Learn to share.

That is great logic. And everyone who's sorry for immigrants taking the jobs of born and bred Americans should take 15-20 of those unemployed folks in your home.

Well both you and I know that the number of people who actually qualify for asylum is minuscule. Coming from a failed society is not enough. And once they’re are freed here and told to show up for their hearing, they never will. They’ll just blend in the population. So the asylum program just becomes a way of violating our immigration laws.

Our ancestors worked hard to build our wonderful country. Why are so many willing to see it gone? Such a strange phenomenon.
