I Would definetly tip a shuttle driver if there was one

 

Because of medical reasons I have a hard time walking 2 miles in a full pack.
This is my first gathering and can't wait!!!! But the "hike" in concerns me
So if there is no shuttle ( by truck) is there a partial boat shuttle?
Is there anything or anyone to help me and my gf hike in? I have lots of hugs to give

I would try to catch a boat doing supply runs in. It's only ¼ of the way in but it all helps. The FLORIDA TRAIL is Back gate and the longest. Shortest way is SIDE DOOR. If your standing looking into the lake at water & no boats.....the side door starts to your right. It's Not that far at all. I'm Larger than most, outta shape, etc and its really not that bad.

Volunteers are plenty at both Doors/Gates.

thx 1d for the reply. i heard abt the boat thing long ago, mid 80`s.& inspired me to come up a grt name for the idea. & i do remember a horse back then too. i wish i could make it there even to cleanup. izz ne1 planning to have boats @ acola or taladega?

 

Thank you for the replies so far! Are there signs when you drive in for side door and other entrances when you arrive in the parking area?

 

Are there signs by the road side, into the gathering that states ocala, is a permitted gathering ???
if not then ocala is a scam gathering, with folks being duped.....

 

No signs.... It's a Rabbit Hole. Something Like what Alice saw in the Looking Glass. Just park on the right, Walk towards the Farles Lake Pay Campground asking the way to Tea Time (wink wink).

Water is up and BOATING is available all the way back. HIGHLY Recommend a boat/Canoe/dead dry log for an option on to site. Def the Shortest route on the foot.

THE SIDE DOOR IS A ROUGH, JAGGED PRIMITIVE TRAIL that I DO NOT RECOMMEND HAULING GEAR, BUGGIES, CARTS, YOUNG CHILDREN, ETC..... I Suggest the Florida Trail for Cargo/Supply caravans.

Head on In and Head on Back to Fat Kids or Iris Kitchen..... Totally in the Heart of the Gathering...
