How do you know he's going to win? Because he told you? It's called PROPAGANDA. It's designed to convince you, not to be real.

btw you didn't capitalize god. Aren't you supposed to capitalize god to show he's, well the Christian 'God'?

wait.. sorry. My smart brain didn't notice this at first. God hates people who don't worship/believe in him, and wants them to burn in hell (with him?) Doesn't that sound, well, petty. "You don't like me? I hate you!" A three year old could come up with something that clever.

He wasn't talking about God. He was making reference towards the devil.

I knew that at some point you would drop the nice guy act and start acting, flippant, narrow minded and superiour.
and if you don't really want to know anything about it thats fine cause I feel the same about you and your beliefs.
words like hate hell and evil are rarley used in paganism and if you think such beliefs are inferior so be it, I feel pity for anyone who lives in a world that is outlined by the beliefs that you just mentioned.

*please note, all of you out there that follow christianty, I am not anti it, I certainly wouldn't be in a relationship with a christian is I was.
I am anti people who force their closed minded beliefs on others, who have twisted beautiful religions (they are all beautiful) and have make them as closed as there minds.
I wish all people with closed minds would follow suit with their mouths
blessings of a strong and bright nature to anyone who wishes to except it

what's the one thing that everybody's perception of heaven has in common?

Somebody's in control. Problems are taken care of or eliminated.

    Would that be heaven?

I don't know but I think ya'll should re-consider believeing in Jesus Christ if you don't alreasy. Regardless what religion you follow or take pride in demonstrating the ignorance that resides in their teachings...
He is who this world measures modern time by. Everything that we are, most of the things that we can prove at this point.. and this humanity as we percieve it was created on the basis of His life story.
I don't know if the date of His life death or resurrection, or which one of the events is what caused time to start at 0 again or when the entire world accepted it as universal time,, but for some reason they did it.
so that's really all that we are.,, the result of what has happened since humanity's way of life changed since back then.
2000yrs and think about how lost we are, the 4000+ conflicting religions, and how for some reason we are programmed to fight wars.

I think something within our human instinct is what caused the majority of the problems, it's hard.. damn near impossible for me to accept that Jesus was only half human.
If the immaculate conception was not such an impossibility for us to fathom, while also being so crucial to the story... things would have probably worked a LOT better over the past two centuries.

Unfortunately we have to accept that a being not from this earth is going to come back one day to make everything better and pick his choice of his 2000yr old crop.

    Can you imagine his expression??

"OMG What did I drop!?! "

    lol,,,
nobody in their right mind would ever claim this mess.

    but seriously,
you can't go wrong with Jesus Christ.
no matter how you look at it.

that maybe true doesn't mean hes the only option ethier and actually some peoples concept of the after life is that you become a part of the divine and your not ruled over.
oh and I don't accept that he will come back again, hes simply a human being that died just under two thousand years ago

Hate, hell and evil don't have to be used in paganism. The devil is just happy that those people are on their way to hell. He doesn't care if your happy in this life, just as long as you end up in hell.

I am not forcing anything on anyone. The views I share are the bible's views and I am not forcing them on anyone. You have the choice to read this post and reply or just go to the next post.

    Love......... you forgot one.
    Love the devil.
    Love Satan.
Unconditionally, and without expectation of reform, 'well, that seems pretty unlikely, huh?'
If you can show ol' Nick as much love as possible, maybe the combined vibes will soften his shell. It is better than fighting hate with hate, thats like a war for peace, or sex for virginity.

I think by this point it's pretty hard not to believe in Jesus... to some extent. I'm certainly not ignorant of the things he was reported to have said, while alive and walking around (the stuff Paul claims he said, on the other hand - that guy was really messed up!)

What Jesus's message was, according to what he was reported to have said, was simply that all of the old rules which the Jewish people had been following as the Law of their deity no longer applied. That now there was a NEW COVENANT which contained, near as I can tell, only two commandments:

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great
    commandment." (Matthew 22:37-38 KJV)

"And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew
    22:39-40 KJV)

Meaning, as I understand it, that as long as one follows these commandments, then salvation awaits.

Even as a pagan, I can honestly say that I fulfill these requirements. I love my God(s) with all my heart and all my soul and all my mind, and I love my neighbor as myself (pretty easy to do since my religious beliefs hinge on the interconnectedness of all things, unifying my God(s), myself, and my neighbors, as one).

I’m not a Christian, but by this logic, I could be said to be “saved.” I feel the glory that is the Universe (i.e. God; i.e. all that groks) all around me, which puts me already squarely in the Kingdom. I don’t think Jesus said anything about having to die to reach the Kingdom, so I figure I’m there (as are we all, if we choose to realize it).

The thing I find most interesting about this whole deal (at this point in the now, anyway) is that semantics will keep most hardcore Christians from ever admitting this. It’s funny in a way that the method chosen by the vast majority of Christians to gain entrance to the Kingdom is to deny it to others. I have some news for you though. Everyone, EVERYONE can enter the kingdom, and your opinion on the subject only enters the picture for yourself. This makes for a really interesting conundrum because we/I/the Universe/God(s)/what-you-will all simply translate ourselves into and out of the Kingdom in a never ending cycle. WE are eternal, and through US there is no death, only change; beautiful, eternal change. I love this world!

Here's a plan....you get all dressed up in your most sexy clothes, and show up at the gates really early so you get a good spot in line. Bring some bills for the doorman, and if you pass a couple of benjamin's and look hip enough, you're in.
That is my suggestion, I won't be there though, so have fun without me.

    Jesus also said:

Joh 14:15 ¶ If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Joh 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

We must come through Jesus Christ. We cannot get to heaven by good works.

    XFRODOBAGGINSX:

Greetings, I'm new to this topic, but I'd just like to ask you one question.

This question, when I asked it, defeated my minister (I was Christian at the time), and he couldn't answer it. Since you seem to be so knowledgeable about God, perhaps you can?

All my life, both as a Christian, and as other things, I have always tried to do the right thing. I was raised on the Ten Commandments, and though I know I've sinned (and confessed my sins before, of course, knowing exactly what I did wrong and trying to not do it anymore), I've been very close to those morals, to the point where I've almost rid myself of the impulse to break them.

Now ... living in a Christian family with a blackmailing mother and a legally abusive father, I saw a lot of hypocracy as a child ... which unless you want me to, I won't go into further detail on that matter.

Either way, since I became agnostic (and later, panentheist), I haven't really done anything wrong. I still practice 9 out of the 10 commandments (save the one about believing in the Christian sense of God), and in becoming what you might consider heathen or heretical, I've found a reservoir of morality and kindness that has enabled me to be a lot more like the fundamental Christian in action (except for my beliefs). I'm the guy who will give his soda to a thirsty person, or loan some dude 5 bucks even if I never plan on seeing it again, even if I can't really spare the 5 dollars to begin with.

Anyway, cutting to the chase ... this is what I asked my minister:

"Minister, if I live my life according to God's will with the exception that I don't believe in him the same way you do ... am I still fated to Hell? Even if I live very morally, and do all of the right things, and respect other people and work to make the world a better place?"

He couldn't come up with a definite answer to this question. My Christian mom said, "no, God knows that you are a good person deep down, as long as you confess your sins and make yourself better, you'll be saved." My Christian dad said, conversely, that I'm breaking one of the Commandments and I'm doomed to Hell anyway.

My question is ... why, if I don't believe in God/Jesus exactly as the Bible dictates, would I be sentenced to eternal damnation? The only reason that I don't believe is because I have insufficient proof. Human beings wrote the Bible, even it was divinely inspired. But, there are other Bibles out there, like the Quran, which are equally as comprehensive as the Bible, and yet contradictory.

At least one of them has to be false ... and because one is false and exists, then that means it is quite possible for a book of that complexity to be written and be wrong.

Now, humans have a long, long history of lying, cheating, and making shit up, especially recreationally, for a good laugh, or to try and explain things that are hard to explain. The Bible isn't the only book out there which claims to be "the" book, and be divinely inspired. How can I trust the humans who wrote it? They are, after all human.

Surely, an all-knowing, all-forgiving God would know of my plight; humans are sinful creatures by nature, and I can't truly trust them. And since God hasn't shown me any proof that I CAN trust in ... surely he must understand how it occurs that I don't believe everything as the Bible says.

Moving on ... how then, can he justifiably banish me to an eternity in Hell, especially when his fan club here on Earth is really hypocritical and mixed in beliefs themselves? And ... if he wouldn't ... then what is so wrong with my position?

so what youre saying is that god grants us with the gift of free will, just to see if we will stay loyal to him, and then by rewarding us he takes that gift back from us turning us into mindless slaves.

mentioning the lack of free will in heaven reminded me of an old thought ive had. I seem to remember that supposedly only humans were given the gift of free will, where as angels were not. Does anyone know if there is any 'truth' to this? Tis been a long time since ive had to site through any biblical lessons.
