How old were you when you became a nudist?

My family was always fine nude in front of each other. But mostly for fairly brief amounts of time and under reasonable circumstances. Getting changed in front of each other. Two people having to shower together for some reason. My sister and I playing some game naked when we were younger. Someone got out of the shower and didn't get changed right away. But also didn't spend more than maybe 20 minutes walking around nude before changing. I could go on but you get the idea. Basically, we weren't shy with our bodies around the house and I always really loved it. But I wouldn't call it nudist, either.

That stopped when I was 10 and there was a huge storm and our whole neighborhood flooded. My dad tasked me with feverishly clearing floating brush from the drainage whatever thing in our back yard. I was knee deep in water, in a massive downpour and was completely soaked inside of a minute. After two or three minutes, I thought it was a fine enough reason to just be naked. So I stripped nude and continued to clear brush from the drain for, I dunno, let's say 20 minutes. And it felt exciting in a way I had not felt before.

My dad told me a couple times to put clothes on because I was outside and the neighbors might see. I told him no, it's just too wet. There's no point. When I was done and the storm had passed and I went upstairs to shower and towel off. I remember standing naked in my bedroom and thinking, I just want to stay this way. It feels terrific. So I did. I spent the rest of the night nude in front of my whole family for no good reason and I'll be damned if I didn't love every second of it. It was exciting but exciting because it just felt so free not to care. And to be kinda thought of as weird for it but not have anyone demand that I go put clothes on. That was definitely the moment I realized I liked being naked for no reason other than just to be naked.

 

When I was 8 years old my best friend his family were nudist and when I would spend the night or the weekend I would go nude with them . And we would go out on their house boat and we all would be nude. And ever since then I would go nude in my bedroom or with my best friend.

 

I started basically the same way.

 

I was maybe 7 or 8 when I started hanging out naked in the forest and skinny-dipping in the creeks. Every trip to the beach I'd wander off and strip naked as soon as I was far enough away.

 

Growing up, we didn't have much of a nudity taboo at home; everyone would be naked around the house at one time or another. Less 'nudist' than maybe 'nudist adjacent.' Occasionally, we visited naturist places on family trips, but I wouldn't say we lived a nudist lifestyle per se. I will say, however, that I became more enthusiastic about being nude than the rest of the family, particularly when I experienced puberty.

The idea of going around the house fully dressed is a little odd to me. I know it's the norm, but I would much rather save on laundry and stay comfortable.

 

I am a late bloomer. Started going nude almost off of my time at home about 2 years ago at 59.

 

I've often thought about it, but I'm rather shy, so haven't yet taken the plunge. I don't think my wife is into the idea anyway, so that kind of puts the mockers on it. Shame really, as I think I'd feel quite comfortable naked, even showing off my big belly and the rest. However, none of us know the future, so perhaps there's still time?

I was always naked as a kid but hid from everyone. Now I don't care. I get naked any time I can. Sometime it is not very welcome.

We were always naked together until she passed away with the big C, age 32 and I was 28. I am now 64 and live on my own and still a nudists and love it, to this day.

As the new kid on the block here, I guess I should explain myself. Retired for a number of years and some mobility problems. During the lockdown I found that most days there was just no reason not to be nude, and I've been an at home nudist ever since. I was in my mid 70's I think. No philosophy of nudism, naturism, or clothes free lifestyle, just for my personal comfort.

 

I was around 16-17 when I first started, I am neurodivergent and heavily dislike clothing as it gives me too many sensory issues. Being naked feels freeing to me both physically and mentally!

 

I’ve always suspected this about myself. I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD and I really hate the feeling of belts and other constricting clothing on my body. I’m glad you figured it out early and you can enjoy being naked.
