i shower once a day, usually because i go to the gym... i can go without showering for a few days, but thats my limit. unless im camping or at a festival, then i could care less what i smelled like
That hippies don't bathe is just a stereotype. I shower every day when I have to go out, but I skip when I don't have to go anywhere. As some have already mentioned, showering/bathing too often isn't too good for our skin and I have ultra-dry skin to start with...
I take a shower in the morning, and a bath at night. I am horrible about water usage, but I do conserve electricity and such with ferociousness.
Although I wasn't born in the hippie era, I can tell you that in the 60's hippies were not dirty!!! This is merely a myth! I know this because my ex-husband was born in that era & is/was a hippie. He is now 51 years old and was there when it all went down. Hippies were only dirty if they were homeless!!! As for me, I was born in 1970, and there is nothing I enjoy more than taking a shower or a long hot bath. I love being clean, my hair looks like total shit if I haven't showered for several days. I sweat a lot also and I really hate the smell of my own body odor. It doesn't bother me so much smelling another person's body odor, but mine I cannot stand. Also, if you have good hygeine in your 'private' parts, you have less of a chance of getting an infection (I.E. yeast, bacterial, etc) so it only makes common sense to BATHE!!!!
i try once a week but usually i wash like every 2 weeks but sometimes i go weeks without washing but wat i wear is always clean and if i smell i wash for shure
I shower once every 2 or 3 days because thats all that is needed to maintain a healthy level of cleanliness. If i showered every day, my hair and skin would get so dried out because soap and shampoo strips away the natural oils that your body produces. This is my rhythm and I accept it. Some people need to shower more often, some people should shower less. I think that, in general, the population is overly concerned with hygiene. Even to this day, there are millions of people on this earth who will never experience a warm shower or sanitary toilet, and yet they will survive. You will never hear them complaining about "greasy hair" or "smelly b.o." because when you look at the big picture, it simply is not important. (I'm sorry for the rant and am removing myself from the soap box now.)
