In poor countries like that majority of women are raped and forced to have sex.

Go try it. Go fucking starve yourself for a week. Go pitch a tent outside and don't fucking eat and then try to function. Better yet, go join the peace corp and ask to be assigned to a country with a famine problem. If you have any doubts about your ability to sympathize then I guarantee a month, even a week of seeing listless little babies and kids with distended bellies and dead babies and dead kids with distended bellies should help to re-awaken your sense of humanity. Go read a book about European Imperialism. I'll give you a quick summation just to wet your appetite: Every excess that you enjoy or witness, every luxury, means that someone else in the world has to go without in equal measure, or more. That is a physical law of the universe my friend. I'm guessing (well not really) that you've never been faced with the prospect of going hungry. I'm also guessing that you've never been to a third world country (and I mean really been to a third world country, not a resort that happens to be in a third world country) - but really you don't have to leave the good ole U.S. to find people so poor that they go hungry.

Famine can and will happen here in the U.S. it's only a matter of time - sound crazy? All it would take is a month or two of drought in a few key areas in north and south america (No more cheap ass tomatoes from Mexico - they'll be keen on keeping their own people from rioting). If the midwest had a straight month of drought in July or August - the middle part of the country would become a desert, just like it did during the dust bowl, with the exception of maybe ten miles east and west of the Mississippi - they have the irrigation infrastructure already in place there - not so elsewhere.

Or here's another scenario for you: Something goes wrong with whatever frankenstein soybean or corn seed Monsanto has engineered to grow one year - you have a huge viable seed shortage - food prices sky rocket and guess what? Massive lifestock die offs and famine. You have poor people living on dandelions and pigeons.

It could happen - so don't be smug about starvation. I ask you what's more decadent - excessive reproduction in a country that has too few resources or excessive reproduction in a country that already consumes far more resources throughout the world than it could ever possibly justify and then wastes it with reckless abandon?

they would never be able to digest the crap we eat every day.

Its a matter of perspective. You have the internet, the news, a constant bombardment of bad news. You know the world is a shitty place and you know the parts of the world that would be the worst to raise a child, but Africans in poor nations have a very limited perspective. They don't see the broad picture because they don't have a 24 hour news ticker. They see exactly what is in front of them, and maybe that doesn't look as bad to them as it looks to us when we hear about it on the news. Maybe they see their community, their family, their village, and only think about how much love their children will be surrounded by.

I think the same thing about whats going on in our corner of the world....who the fuck would want to bring a child into this?
