I forgot to throw in the bills, cable TV/Phone/Internet included is about $300 now. It's not bad at all, but I don't make much money.

    Our mortgage is $625 monthly.

My brother and his wife, in Maryland is $2000 monthly. My sis and her husband is $1575 in Maryland...Yes indeedy, Maryland is very expensive....that's part of why I left there. Its near impossible to afford it on your own.

I don't own a TV. So cable $0, Phone & internet comes together on 1 bill about $85 a month, I also don't have a car...so I don't pay for any auto insurance/registration/ or gas. My heat & electricity is included with my rent....laundry room is on the first floor of my building and all I pay for there is laundry soap.

so I would rather just pay for my $85 a month...along with my $60 monthly rent= $145 monthly total

so yes oldtroll...life can be sorta cheap., depending what u want outta life

While I was living in England I was paying 400 pounds a month plus 100 for council tax and I could only afford to eat 1 pound pizzas for dinner every night, and if I was lucky I could afford to the bus to work twice a week, and maybe take a trip into the city, or to a castle nearyby but otherwise I had to walk across fields of frozen cow dung to get anywhere. It was one of the happiest times of my life.

Here, the house I'm moving back into in a couple of weeks charged about $320 a week for a room, but its probably gone up. Still, its a nice, big place, with some nice people living in it and it will probably still be cheap. I can't wait to go back there.

You are absolutely right Squawkers7. During my hippie years I lived on very little and was totally satisfied with my life.

As you can see from my sig-pic I didn't spend much on clothes .... cutoffs and flip-flops .... T-shirt in my book bag for emergency use.
Two films cans in my book bag .... one filled with instant coffee because hot water was free in the student center .... the other filled with a little smoke. Books were almost free if you bought them used from other students instead of the used book store. I had a beard and my GF didn't shave anywhere, so we didn't spend anything on razor blades. Those were the days!

I have no job that can afford that, I work part time at Express and I start on Wednesday at Bath & Body Works, probably with both jobs, I could make just enough to pay for the rent, but John is the one that pays for it. I do give him a lot of love, so it all evens out in the end :p

I really need to get my license, if I really really wanted to, I would probably have it by now, but I need to get over my weird feelings about driving, because Im sure I could get a better job, at least one full time job if I could get to the places were they are offering them.

$1900 a month plus utilities. This is for a 3 bedroom unit within a a house of 4 places. It's a tight ass place, but it's actually on the cheaper side for property in the area.

$1007 per month plus utilities for a 2/2 apartment. it is spacious. way too much imo, but pretty average for a decent place in austin. but downtown is ridiculously expensive...
