Or because it suits a particular political viewpoint. One that should have smoked him out dead or alive.

I think he would stand out in a crowd. But I guess our secret services aren't aware that he's tall.

Ayman Zawahiri is the new boogieman? Sorry I can't keep up. Who next...Iran, Lebanon, Syria? Whoops we've already allowed Lebanon to be bombed back ten years.

For a second try to put politics out of your mind. You can't keep up because maybe you think that every thread here has to be a political debate. There is nothing to debate here. This is history. Do some research. Did you read the link I gave you? Dig deeper. al-Banna, Qutb, etc... follow history. I have a meeting and will not be back online for a couple of hours. No need to respond yet. Do some research, and if you like we can continue this later.

Isn't Bin Laden head of Al Qaeda? I have no intention of starting a different thread to discuss something already under discussion.

Are you calling for Jihad? It sounds like you are. You are calling for the very thing you wish to appear to be against. You are a rank hippocrite.

Are you talking about Sayyid Qutb?
Not all of us believe fully in either the church or science, we choose to take pieces from each to describe our situation in life. Neither controls or forces us to live our lives the way we wish. Do they control your life?

It's a CIA-funded brand name that has about as much actual importance to the 'terrorists' as Disney World security does to our troops.

Exactly, Al Qaeda is a figment of the politicians in power. My question would be what terrorists? Those that are fighting for a goal of making things better for their people or those fighting to control the world and it's oil?

The crap that says we should fear all Muslims. War, which war are you bringing up? I don't plan on going back to the crusades. I am trying to stop this one from escalating into encompassing Iran and Syria. I am not sure what your point is. You and others keep bringing up overeducated geeks from Egypt or Saudi Arabia who are masterminding some huge arabian overthrow of the west...yet you never wish to make the Saudis accountable, why is that? How many of the 09/11 bombers were Saudis? Shouldn't we concern ourselves with that fact?

Sayyid Qutb has influenced Islamic terrorist groups in Egypt and elsewhere. His influence on al Qaeda was felt through his writing, his followers and especially through his brother, Muhammad Qutb. Who following his release from prison in Egypt, moved to Saudi Arabia and became a professor of Islamic Studies and edited, published and promoted his brother Sayyid's work.

One of Muhammad Qutb's students and ardent follower was Ayman al-Zawahiri, who went on to become a member of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad terror group, a mentor of Osama bin Laden and a Deputy Operations Chief of al-Qaeda.

This is history. And it may answer many questions you have. If you desire to know the answers that is.

If you dropped the terroist crap from your arguments, some of us might follow your reasoning as it is, it appears you have already made up your mind. Why not hold the Saudis accountable, weren't the majority of the pilots on 09/11 Saudis? Or what or who were they?

And again I say if Osama Bin Laden is such a threat, why aren't we seeking him?

Where was this said, and who believes it? Not myself. We should embrace all people, and work together to eradicate the hate that is taught through radical Islam.

I am not bringing up any war. Why do you keep bringing it up?

This goes back to many areas of belief that 9/11 was conducted by "a bunch of Arabs in a cave", al Qaeda and other terrorists are poor uneducated misguided Muslims, are products of the US/CIA funded and trained fighters from the Soviet/Afghan war, etc... al-Zawahiri as an example. Grew up in a prominent Egyptian family, which has a history of doctors and scholars. Joined the Muslim Brotherhood at 14. Started his own cell because the Brotherhood chose to accomplish its goals through political means, rather than violent means. Formed the Egyptian Islamic Jihad. Met bin Laden in Pakistan in the mid 80's, fought the Soviets in Afghanistan. Years later merged with al Qaeda. This man lived radical Islam his entire life. Joined an Islamist group 20 years before the Afghan war. He is educated, determined, and dangerous. He is not a household name, but he is still a threat.

You consistantly project beliefs my way. You ask why I never wish to make the Saudis accountable? Why is that? I am guessing that because of the Bush/Saudi relationship, and your belief that I am a Bush supporting Neocon, that I would not dare to accuse the Saudi government. You are wrong. In fact, I have discussed this and given my beliefs on this subject in the past. How US petro dollars flowing through the Royal family and Islamic charities and into Madrasses in Pakistan that are breeding grounds for radicals. I am not denying this. Start another thread discussing this if you would like, I will contribute all I know. It is a worthwhile subject.

What I posted was a quote from Sayyid Qutb. That is his impression of American women. When he returned to Egypt his impression of the American people was "far worse than he had ever imagined".
