One famous director described his most popular actress as having the voice, intelligence and personality of Daffy Duck.
Since due to the size and cabling of microphones at the time, films were re-recorded on the sound stage, but a new era of stars who could use their own voice was soon born.

Perhaps the last example of same language dubbing was in 1964, when it was discovered that Audrey Hepburn could not sing to the required standard for my fair lady.
The musical numbers are the voice of Marni Nixon.

I liked when women would ask questions then ask if they could have a peek !
Lot said thier guys would not shave or manscape but expected them to do it for thier pleasure.
