How does the reputation system work?

    What've you got to lose? Work with mcd's is hardly difficult to come by! It's not like you'd be walking away from a financially lucrative, never-to-be-repeated opportunity, is it? Move away. Go live somewhere else. If the worst comes to the worst, you can always get another job flipping burgers to keep you off the poverty line. Don't put obstacles between yourself and the rest of your life.

    Back to the subject of reputation for a minute - I just saw someone with "seeker of wisdom" status (50 rep points?) who has a total of 37 posts. After a quick nose, I saw she was begging for rep on the "positive rep" thread. As predicted, this system is serving no real purpose other than forming a little "in crowd" of cliquey rep-seekers.
