Loving the vegetarian replies on here. Makes that statement about vegetarians/vegans ring so true. "How do you know someone is vegetarian/vegan? Don't worry, they'll tell you!" Day after day they remind me how glad I am that I went back to eating meat. I like my bacon crispy, but for God's sakes, it doesn't have to be breaking your teeth crispy. I looooove bacon with Miracle Whip and lettuce on toast. Been awhile since I've had that, but I've already had my bacon for the week so it will have to wait.
I like it made from turkey because I don't eat mammals (not judging those who do just a personal choice) Edit: But if I had pork bacon I'd, ideally, like it locally sourced from a small farm that treats their animals with respect and avoids antibiotics/chemicals etc. Grass fed is ideal for many reasons
I only like them mixed in salads or in pastas...so I leave the tomato out on the blt's also. Tomatoes are one of the only foods that are better for you cooked, I heard, anyway....most foods, get the nutirents cooked out of them, but not the case with tomatoes. Kinky, not many people say miracle whip, so that is why I connected with your answer here so much as well...
Really, I only like tomatoes when they are ripe and in season, preferably homegrown. Hot-house force grown tomatoes suck! So yeah, BLT's are a seasonal thing for me, and the seasons over! ) : Also there's the classic turkey club sandwich...with extra bacon and a pile o' fries! yum
I'm a bit over fries now days they truly are pointless empty carbs that fill my tummy instead of the better stuff I'm paying money for.
I thought you were all about pointless and empty, Irmi? ...What better stuff? Fries and chips make a sandwich better. Thats about the only time I eat fries. And what would fish and chips be without the chips?
tomatoes sandwiches are great...toasted tomato with black pepper and mayo yum sometimes i add bacon but thats just a bonus i like mah bacon in mah belly
I like cold or fridge temp tomato but anything warm really is yucky for me, I'm like this with most salad.
Miracle Whip is a condiment of its own nature, it is definitely not mayonnaise and any other "salad dressing" or "salad cream" (seriously, I've seen it labelled as that, grosssss) doesn't come close. Most of the time it's too sweet, but I won't accept anything else on my BLTs (T for toast, lol) or turkey sandwiches.
