This thread started as I was listening to Braveheart soundtrack and it always makes me sad. Though the movie is heavily romanticized, I still think uniting a nation to fight a nation responsible for your wife's death is just awesome. And then to be executed, not taking their shit, just blissfully aware you're dying and you just want to see your wife again.
certainly people willing to accept a tragic fate for the sake of other's lives, freedom and well being, is noble enough, though to do so for an ideology, a belief or nation, i can appreciate the intention, but all the romanticizing in the world won't stop me from seeing as misguided. and i can be right there with that feeling too, but i believe in the responsibility to step back, and judge everything in terms of the kind of world it creates, for everyone to have to live in.
